Long An: Many practical solutions to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemic

The prevention of Covid-19 disease has always been concerned and handled by Long An People's Committee through daily meetings with departments and branches.

At the meeting with the leaders of the departments on preventing and controling Covid-19, on April 13, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can directed the Long An Economic Zone Authority, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Planning and Investment to closely cooperate with localities to work with businesses in the area to propagandize and advocate for businesses to smoothly and proactively implement measures to prevent and control epidemics in their enterprises. Enterprises are propagated and mobilized to organize medical declarations for workers through NCOVI's universal health declaration application, etc.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directs many other important issues. Specifically, the People's Committees at the district level are assigned to have a plan to inspect private health facilities in the area in implementing the measures to prevent and control Covid-19 during the medical examination and treatment process; timely reorganizing the establishments which have not performed well.

Direct the Department of Health consolidates and perfects the force for disinfecting in 15 districts, town, city and 2 provincial teams; prepares all necessary facilities to be ready to perform the task when they are ordered. After completing the installation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus testing machine, the Department of Health instructs Long An General Hospital to continue strengthening its human resources to perform the testing and complete the necessary procedures to competent authorities for recognition.

Department of Education and Training presides and co-ordinates Long An Newspaper, Long An Radio and Television Station to strengthen the propaganda on the direction of all levels in implementing the motto "Pause to go to school but not to stop learning" to ensure curriculum and learning progress; prepare necessary conditions for students to go to school when advocated.

The Border Guard Command continues to coordinate with relevant functional agencies and localities to strictly manage the borderline, resolutely prevent and strictly handle cases of illegal entry and smuggling of goods on the border route. At the same time, mass unions enhance communication and mobilize people not to participate in smuggling.

The Provincial Military Command is interested in foreign affairs, supporting the armed forces of neighbouring country to prevent and combat Covid-19; pay attention to the life of militia stations on the borderline.

Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs works closely with departments, branches and localities to update the documents guiding the implementation of the Government's Resolution No.42/NQ-CP of April 9, 2020; prepare necessary data so that it will advise the People's Committee to implement immediately when the Central Committee has guidance.

Following the Prime Minister's Directive 16 on social isolation from April 1, 2020, up to now, the whole province has propagandized and mobilized about 19,000 cases. Through inspecting and handling violations of epidemic prevention and control, all levels and branches in the province have sanctioned over 600 cases and collected over 500 million VND./.
