Long An merges the 600 billion VND bridge across Vam Co Tay river

The bridge project across Vam Co Tay River is an important part of the Ring Road of Tan An City, Long An Province - 1 of 3 key projects of the 11th Provincial Party Congress Resolution, term 2020- 2025.

On the morning of September 1, the Department of Transport held a ceremony to merge the bridge across the Vam Co Tay river. Attending the ceremony were Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial National Assembly delegation - Nguyen Thanh Hai; Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut; Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu, members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; Tan An City leaders; former provincial leaders.

The bridge over Vam Co Tay River is the last part to connect the Ring Road of Tan An City

The bridge across the Vam Co Tay river started construction at the end of 2021, with a total cost of nearly 600 billion VND (including both road and bridge parts), connecting Binh Tam commune and Nhon Thanh Trung commune. In particular, the bridge section has a scale of 4 lanes, 437m long, 18.5m wide, the road is nearly 1.6km long.

The project is carried out using Extradosed bridge technology. This is a completely new technology, applied for the first time in Long An.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Department of Transport - Dang Hoang Tuan said that this is a large-scale project with technological complexity. Understanding the important significance of the bridge, the collective of leaders and workers of Delta Trading Construction Joint Stock Company and Trung Nam Machinery Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company have worked actively, overcoming many difficulties and challenges due to problems with construction site.

After more than 20 months of construction, the merging ceremony the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the National Day on September 2 has become even more meaningful. This stage marks the connection between the two banks of Vam Co Tay river, between Binh Tam commune and Nhon Thanh Trung commune, showing that the completion date of the entire project is near.

Accordingly, it is expected that this November, the bridge will be technically opened to traffic and officially inaugurated in December 2023, putting the project into operation; At the same time, the entire Ring Road of Tan An City will be opened to traffic.

The bridge over Vam Co Tay River is in the final part to connect the City Ring Roadc with neighboring districts (Thu Thua, Tan Tru, Chau Thanh), thereby, meeting transportation needs, promoting economic, cultural and social development, opening up new development space, contributing to improving and creating a new look for the urban area of Tan An./.
