Long An People's Council approves 16 resolutions at 3rd meeting

Through discussion and close review of submissions, draft resolutions, and verification reports, the Xth Provincial People's Council unanimously approved 16 important and urgent socio-economic resolutions. Including the Resolution on regulations on tuition fees for the academic year 2021-2022; Resolution on regulations on spending content and support spending levels in Covid-19 prevention and control in the province (replacing Resolution No. 09/2021/NQ-HDND dated August 17, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council).

At the same time, the Provincial People's Council issued resolutions on: Regulation on protecting state secrets of the Provincial People's Council; allocating funds for implementing the national target program on new-style rural construction; supplementing the list of public non-business services funded by the state budget in the field of natural resources and environment; change land use purposes and production forests, recover land, update land use planning to implement investment projects.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council also approved the adjustment of investment policy of Provincial Road (PR) 830E project (section from expressway intersection to PR 830) and PR 823D site clearance project (newly opened Northwest axis ended connecting Long An - Ho Chi Minh City); for the investment policy of the project of Provincial Police Headquarters; the projects of embankment of Bao Dinh river, embankment of Vam Co Tay river to prevent landslides in Tan An city and embankment of anti-erosion embankment to protect Kien Tuong townlet.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that the recently adopted resolutions are very important and have great significance for attracting investment and speeding up the implementation of anti-erosion projects, urban embellishment and traffic connection, contributing to speeding up the socio-economic development of the province in the coming period; at the same time serving the prevention and control of epidemics, especially supporting and sharing tuition fees with parents of students in the current difficult context.

Therefore, the Provincial People's Council proposes that, right after this meeting, the Provincial People's Committee urgently has a plan to concretize and organize the implementation of the resolutions, ensuring compliance with regulations, timeliness and efficiency; in which, soon complete dossiers and procedures, submit them to the Central Government for consideration and support capital for important road projects and embankment works in the province.

In order to soon put the resolution into life, promote its effectiveness. The Provincial People's Council proposed the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Committees of the People's Council and each delegate of the Provincial People's Council to strengthen supervision activities and closely coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies in concretizing and implementing the resolution, actively propagate and mobilize people to participate in the implementation.

In the first nine months of 2021, especially in the third quarter of 2021, the southern provinces in general, including Long An, were severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. But thanks to the centralized, consistent, drastic, focused leadership and direction, mobilizing the strong participation of the whole political system, Long An has become a "bright spot" in terms of control the epidemic situation well.

On the other hand, Long An is also a leader in the process of opening the economy in the "new normal" conditions, production and trade in the province are being actively restored and ensuring the requirements of safety in epidemic prevention and control.

To protect the achieved results, the Provincial People's Council required the Provincial People's Committee, all levels, branches and localities to absolutely not be self-satisfied, subjective or negligent; focus on implementing synchronously and effectively the Government's Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP dated October 11, 2021 on the provisional regulation "Safely adapting, flexibly, effectively controlling the Covid-19 epidemic” with specific, appropriate and feasible roadmap, objectives and measures; especially promptly supporting and removing difficulties for businesses, quickly recovering economic development, taking care of people's lives and ensuring social security after the pandemic.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council elected the Director of the Department of Science and Technology - Nguyen Minh Hai as a member of the Provincial People's Committee, session X, term 2021 - 2026.

Speaking at the closing session, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc called on each delegate, leader, in his or her position, to better promote the role of responsibility, attach with good implementation Conclusion No. 14-KL/TW, dated September 22, 2021 of the Politburo on the policy of encouraging and protecting dynamic and creative cadres for the common benefits, contributing to achieve the highest results of goals, targets and tasks in 2021./.
