Accordingly, the economic growth rate in the first 6 months was estimated at 1.12 percent. In particular, the agriculture - forestry - fishery sector is estimated to increase by 2.75 percent over the same period, lower than the growth rate in the same period in 2019 by 4 percent; industry-construction sector increased by 4.72 percent over the same period, much lower than the same period increase of 13.95 percent and trade-service sector decreased by 5.04 percent, same period increased by 6, 24 percent.

In the first 6 months, the province cultivated 456,822 hectares of rice, reaching 92.5 percent of the plan, the harvested area was 270,211 hectares, the yield reached 1.7 million tons. In implementing the national target program on new-style rural construction, the Provincial People's Committee recognized 11 more communes meeting standards, bringing the total number of communes recognized in the province to 88 out of 161 communes, accounting for 54.6 percent of the total number of communes. the whole province. In particular, 2 communes Hoa Phu, Chau Thanh and Phuoc Hau, Can Giuoc district were recognized to meet the new-style rural standards; Chau Thanh district has just been recognized as a new-style rural district. The average number of criteria per commune of the whole province reaches 16.5 criteria per commune.

In the industrial sector, due to the impact of Covid-19 epidemic, the indexes of industry increased lower than the same period last year, many groups of industrial products experienced lower output. Industrial production value at constant prices in 2010 reached about 113,580 billion VND, accounting for 41 percent of the plan. Regarding attracting investment, from the beginning of the year until now, 715 new businesses have been established with a total capital of over 10,305 billion VND; 126 enterprises were dissolved and 204 businesses were suspended. Up to now, there are 12,020 enterprises operating in the province with a total registered capital of 316,425 billion VND. In the first 6 months, total budget revenue in the province reached 8,040 billion VND, reached 47.9 percent of the estimate assigned by the Central Government, reached 47.6 percent of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council. In which, domestic revenue is 6,740 billion VND, import and export tax is 1,300 billion VND.

In the field of culture and society, although the direct influence of Covid-19 epidemic caused cultural, artistic and sports activities to be halted for a long time, this is also a condition for Long An province to do a good job in preventing epidemics when it was one of the localities without Covid-19 cases. The provincial People's Committee also directs functional agencies to fully implement the social welfare policies, especially the assistance affected by the disease. In addition, the situation of political security, social order and safety in the province is maintained stably; administrative reform and organizational structure continued to be focused on implementation.
