Long An Provincial People's Committee holds memorial ceremony for victims of traffic accidents

On November 21, in Duc Hoa district, Long An Provincial People's Committee held a memorial ceremony for victims of traffic accidents in 2023. Attending ceremony were Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, Head of Provincial Traffic Safety Committee - Nguyen Van Ut, leaders of provincial departments and branches.

The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee informed that, despite the high determination of departments, unions and local authorities at all levels, the traffic accident situation in the first 10 months of 2023 in the province is still at a high level, increasing by 41. 3% over the same period. The whole province had 130 traffic accidents, killing 92 people and injuring 62 people.

Speaking at the Memorial Ceremony, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, Head of Provincial Traffic Safety Committee - Nguyen Van Ut shared the pain and loss with the families of the victims who died from traffic accidents. He affirmed that the memorial ceremony is also an opportunity to remind ourselves, relatives, friends and the whole society to do everything possible to improve traffic in our country in general and our province in particular to develop in the direction of culture, civilization, safety, live consciously and responsibly towards yourself, family and society; at the same time, to join hands to share the losses of victims and families of traffic accidents.

At the same time, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, Head of Provincial Traffic Safety Committee - Nguyen Van Ut also called on agencies, units, organizations, individuals and all people to raise awareness of compliance with legal regulations on road safety, join hands to share the losses of victims and families of traffic accident victims to ensure complete safety and peace for every citizen when participating in traffic.

“It is time for us to be brave and look straight at the truth that in every traffic accident there is both the fault and responsibility of each individual, the community and the State. With strong actions, through national policies and social commitments, we are doing everything we can to reduce the number of traffic accidents - along with reducing the number of deaths and injuries.
