In 2024, the province's socio-economic situation had a clear recovery, basically achieving the set general goals with many important results in all fields; it is estimated that in 2024, 21/21 main targets are achieved and exceeded.

GRDP growth rate reached 8.3%; average income per capita reached 107.3 million VND/year. Total state budget revenue is estimated at 25,831 billion VND by the end of 2024, reaching 121.3% of the estimate assigned by the province, increases 27.5% over the same period; Long An is always among the localities with the highest disbursement rate in the country.

The province successfully organized the 2nd Long An Province Culture - Sports - Tourism Week, attracting many tourists to the locality, contributing to spreading the image of Long An to tourists; Long An was voted Top 10 localities in attracting large enterprises in 2024 by Vietnam Report Magazine. The province strongly mobilized socialized resources to invest in education development; etc.

The year 2025 has a particularly important meaning with many important historical events, is the year with many challenges. The whole political system must simultaneously carry out important political tasks, both streamlining the apparatus according to Resolution No. 18, and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, successfully organizing party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.

The province sets out 21 socio-economic targets and 10 main orientations and tasks for implementation: focusing on improving the effectiveness of planning, management and implementation according to the Law on Planning; promoting economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation, improving productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness; mobilizing and effectively using resources to promote socio-economic development.

At the same time, speeding up the construction of synchronous transport infrastructure, especially key transport infrastructure, inter-regional and urban areas projects; focusing on improving the investment and business environment; striving to improve the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2025 to maintain the top position in the country; developing the economy in parallel with implementing social progress and equity, focusing on improving the material and spiritual life and health of the people.

Managing, exploiting, and using natural resources effectively and sustainably; protecting the living environment; proactively and effectively responding to climate change, preventing, combating and mitigating natural disasters; promoting the work of building, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management; consolidating and strengthening the potential of national defense and security; improving the effectiveness of foreign affairs activities; promoting information and propaganda, improving the effectiveness of mass mobilization work, creating social consensus.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut requested to focus on concretizing the 18 targets of the Provincial Party Committee Resolution and 21 targets of the Provincial People's Council in 2025, related branches and localities must develop implementation plans right from the beginning of the year.

The whole province must focus and carry out well the work of welcoming the upcoming Traditional New Year; focus on tasks and solutions to strive for the GRDP growth rate of 8.5-9% in 2025; State budget collection must be focused from the beginning of the year to reach 30,000 billion VND in 2025; implement the provincial planning and investment with focus according to the approved planning; etc./.
