Long An urges implementation of key projects; improves investment environment

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut has just chaired an online meeting with localities in the province on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in April; setting directions and tasks in May 2022.

In April and the first 4 months of 2022, the Covid-19 epidemic continued to be well controlled; economic activities gradually recovered. The agricultural sector actively prevented drought, water shortage, and saltwater intrusion; the province's key crops grewn steadily; the fishery sector continued to be effective with increased area and output over the same period; shrimp and tra fish prices were stable. Industry and construction had many positive signs, the index of industrial production in the first 4 months of the year increased by more than 5 percent over the same period. Trade - services were strongly restored. Total retail sales of consumer goods and services in the first four months of the year increased by more than 6 percent. The management and administration of the budget was implemented drastically; budget revenue increased by more than 10 percent over the same period; budget spending was strictly and effectively controlled.

At the conference, departments, branches and localities discussed limitations in investment progress to implement key projects; disbursement of public investment; ground clearance in industrial zones, clusters, key works; etc.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut requested departments, branches and localities to urgently perform key tasks in socio-economic development in 2022. Specifically, it was necessary to focus on monitoring the weather and diseases on crops and livestock; implement new rural construction effectively and practically; focus on the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic.

He also requested to speed up the implementation of key projects; focus on compensation, site clearance, and improvement of the investment environment; strengthen dialogue to remove difficulties for businesses to restore production and business effectively. In particular, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that localities paid attention to budget collection and disbursement of public investment capital.

He also asked departments, branches and localities to correct the service attitude of cadres and civil servants in administrative reform; promptly support businesses, workers and people who are unemployed due to the Covid-19 epidemic; effectively implement the entrance exam for the 10th grade in the school year 2022 - 2023 and the high school graduation exam in 2022./.
