Long An ward from above
The homeland whatever the name is still the homeland
In late June, many signs of communes, wards, and Tay Ninh Province were installed to replace the old signs. In Thu Thua Town (old), although it was the weekend, workers were still busy completing the final steps to hand over the Thu Thua Commune office to the staff and civil servants to settle in their new workplace.

Headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and the Public Administration Service Center of Tay Ninh Province (formerly Long An Province)
Thu Thua Commune was established on the basis of arranging the entire natural area and population size of Thu Thua Town, part of Binh Thanh Commune, Tan Thanh Commune, and Nhi Thanh Commune. After the merger, the Thu Thua Commune Administrative Center was located at the newly completed Administrative Area of the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Thu Thua District (formerly).
It is known that this administrative center is newly planned with a fairly large scale, becoming one of the largest commune administrative centers in Tay Ninh province today. This place is oriented to develop strongly in industry, in which priority is given to green industry and high technology.
Ms. Tran Thi Lang - a party member of Thu Thua commune, said that through the media, she learned about the policy of merging the province and the 2-level local government model. “When I learned about the policy, there were many mixed emotions, at first I also had some concerns about the new name, the two beloved words Long An would no longer exist, but when I learned carefully, I realized the benefits of streamlining the apparatus after merging the province as General Secretary To Lam once said: “When merging, there is a mentality, a feeling of missing to the homeland, but the country is the homeland. We must work for common development, merging to be compact, to create momentum. Creating space for development is very important” - Ms. Lang shared.
Tay Ninh province (new) has a streamlined administrative apparatus and agencies, young cadres with high cultural qualifications. She hopes that the economy will develop faster, the infrastructure will be expanded and upgraded, creating convenience in traveling, transporting goods, reducing traffic accidents, promoting the work of preventing and combating corruption, negativity, etc.

The headquarters of the communes in Long An province have been renamed
Long An ward was merged from wards: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, Huong Tho Phu commune (Tan An city) and part of Binh Thanh commune, Thu Thua district, Long An province (old). This will be the administrative - political center of Tay Ninh province (new).
Mr. Hoang Minh Truong (Long An ward, Tay Ninh province) shared that as a soldier of Uncle Ho, having participated in the revolution, he really respects and loves his homeland and country. Having left the North to live and work in the South for decades, any place in this S-shaped country is home. For that reason, he and many local cadres and party members are very happy and agree with the merger of Long An and Tay Ninh provinces (old).
He learned that according to the development orientation, the entire area of Long An ward will be a commercial urban area along the Vam Co Tay River, becoming a dynamic economic, commercial and service center with a modern, friendly administration, effectively serving people and businesses. Along with that is the focus on developing science and technology. "I believe that the glorious achievements of the previous leaders will be inherited and further promoted by the new leaders to further develop Tay Ninh province (new) and improve people's lives" - Mr. Truong said.
Promoting regional economy and improving people's lives

Administrative procedures are still carried out by officials throughout the transition period to a two-level government
When merging with Long An - a locality with advantages in industrial development and owning Long An International Port, Tay Ninh will have more strategic space to develop trade, services, tourism, etc. The new Tay Ninh province has a large space to develop industry in a sustainable direction, etc.

Former Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee - Pham Thanh Phong
Quoting the words of General Secretary To Lam, noting that the merger must be viewed as a historic opportunity to redesign a leaner, smarter, more cohesive government system to overcome the bottlenecks of administrative division, fragmented development and local competition that have persisted for many years, former Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee - Pham Thanh Phong hopes that the leaders of Tay Ninh province (new) will have a long-term vision, bringing the province to develop in all aspects, and the people will be prosperous and happy. He believes that in the current integration trend, cadres and party members must put the interests of the country first. He has high expectations and confidence in the development of the new province.
“Merging provinces is to expand the space and create more opportunities for development. I hope that cadres and party members must study to improve their cultural, professional and technical qualifications because we are moving to a new stage, so we must have knowledge, understanding and master technology. Merging but not losing the identity but must preserve and promote the previous tradition of Long An province. The most important thing is that merging provinces must make the socio-economic development of the new province further, people's lives must be improved compared to before.” - Mr. Pham Thanh Phong added.
With careful preparation and correct orientation, after the merger, it is hoped that the (new) Tay Ninh province will quickly promote its internal strength, create a strong momentum, attract foreign investment, develop local industrial parks, develop socio-economic development and improve people's lives./.
According to the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee, after the merger, the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee (new) has 101 affiliated Party organizations with 94,306 Party members. The new province has 96 communes and wards with an area of over 8,500 km² and a population of over 3.25 million people, serving as a strategic bridge between Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast Region and the Mekong Delta. Previously, the Standing Committee of the Long An Provincial Party Committee coordinated with the Standing Committee of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee to work with the Central Organizing Committee, the Central Inspection Committee, and the Central Office on the plan to appoint personnel for the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Inspection Committee of the new Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, ensuring the conditions and standards according to regulations, meeting the requirements of the tasks for leading and operating the 2-level local government model effectively and efficiently; prepare the necessary conditions to officially come into operation from July 1, 2025. |
