Delegates vote on the list of delegation to attend the XIII Congress of Vietnam Trade Union

In the third working session, the Executive Committee of the XI Provincial Labor Confederation, term 2023-2028 approved the results of the first meeting to elect the Standing Committee, the titles of Chairman, Vice Chairman; elect the Inspection Committee, Chairman of Inspection Committee.

The Standing Committee of Provincial Labor Confederation, term XI, consists of 14 members. Mr. Nguyen Van Qui was re-elected as Chairman of Provincial Labor Confederation; Ms. Le Thi Thu Cuc, Ms. Pham Thi Quyen and Mr. Nguyen Hoai Thanh were elected as Vice Presidents of the Provincial Labor Confederation. The Inspection Committee of term XI, consists of 8 members, Mr. Le Van An was elected as the Chairman of Inspection Committee.

The delegation to attend the XIII Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union include 16 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates.

On behalf of the Executive Board, Chairman of Provincial Confederation of Labor - Nguyen Van Qui vowed to uphold the sense of responsibility, intellectual concentration, solidarity, unity, promote the results achieved in the last term, and strive to overcome difficulties, promote emulation movements, strive to successfully complete the tasks set out by the Resolution of XI Provincial Trade Union Congress, helping the Party Committee, government and people to build the province to grow faster and more sustainably.

The congress set five targets by the end of the term: strive for the province to have 400,000 union members; strive for 100% of enterprises with 25 or more workers to have a trade union; strive for 85% of enterprises with trade unions to be eligible to represent, negotiate and sign collective labor agreements as prescribed by law; etc.

The Congress sets eight annual targets: strive for 90% of union members and employees to propagate, disseminate, study and thoroughly understand the guidelines of the Party, policies and laws related to labor and Trade Union; mobilize at least 65% of cadres, workers, public employees and laborers to learn to improve their professional qualifications, skills and knowledge of the law; 100% grassroots trade unions in administrative, non-business, state-owned enterprises; at least 75% of grassroots enterprise trade unions outside the state sector join with employers in promulgating and implementing grassroots democracy regulations; etc.

The Congress identified three breakthrough targets during the term: Concentrating resources to perform well the tasks of representing, taking care of and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees, focusing on dialogue, negotiation and signing of the collective labor agreement; focus on training the team of grassroots Trade Union leaders with wisdom, bravery, enthusiasm, responsibility and prestige to meet the new situation; step up directing and administering trade union activities; focus on digital transformation in the field of union and finance management.

Chairman of Provincial Labor Confederation - Nguyen Van Qui affirmed: "The XI Trade Union Congress of Long An province is the congress of "Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development". The Congress requests members, workers, officials, laborers and trade unions at all levels with a tradition of solidarity, dynamism, creativity, to show a sense of responsibility, promote self-reliance, determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges, take advantage of opportunities, propose specific solutions to put the Resolution of the XI Congress of Provincial Trade Union into reality, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development tasks of the province. By 2025, the province is expected to maintain its leading position in the Mekong Delta and become a well-developed province in the Southern Key Economic Region by 2030"./.
