Promote friendly cooperation between Long An province and Korean localities and businesses

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that Long An was very honor to welcome two former heads of states. They were the ones who laid the foundation for the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership relationship of the two countries.

Continuing the tradition of friendly relations between the two countries and the special friendship Truong Tan Sang - Lee Myung-Bak, Long An province has established friendly relations and signed bilateral cooperation agreements on socio-economic development with 3 localities of Korea: Chung-cheong-nam-do; Jeo-lla-buk-do and Yang-San city, Gyeong-sang-nam-do.

To date, Korea is the 2nd largest investor in Long An province in terms of total projects, with 208 projects and ranks 3rd in total registered investment capital, with nearly 1 billion USD. These are very meaningful numbers, contributing to bringing Long An into the top 10 leading provinces/cities in attracting FDI capital in Vietnam and contributing very positively to the province's economic growth, thereby improving people's lives.

Long An province hopes that Korean investors will help the province develop areas such as processing and manufacturing industries (electronic component production, precision mechanics, semiconductor industry, agricultural product processing, clean energy, pharmaceutical industry and medical equipment, biotechnology). In addition, Long An province wishes to cooperate with Korean investors to establish a high-tech labor training center to meet labor requirements and serve the development of the above-mentioned industries.

Former President of South Korea - Lee Myung-Bak shared: "I have built a very good relationship with Mr. Truong Tan Sang. In the coming time, I will continue to enhance that relationship. Korean businesses are determined to invest in Vietnam, investigating with a positive attitude. Businesses should consider investing in Long An because the province has many favorable opportunities for long-term business. I appreciate the attitude and warm welcome of Mr. Truong Tan Sang, leader of Long An province - the people responsible for administration in the province. I feel the improvement of administrative conditions in Long An and believe that you should invest here. Speaking at the conference, former Politburo member and former State President - Truong Tan Sang acknowledged and thanked Mr. Lee Myung-Bak for his affection for Vietnam in general, and Long An province in particular. These precious affections have fostered an increasingly close friendship. The current generation wishes to continue cultivating the friendly relationship between the two countries. With that spirit, he believe that Korean investors and organizations will continue to learn and invest in Vietnam, including Long An. Difficulties and obstacles in the investment process will be listened to, and promptly resolved by leaders, bringing high efficiency.
