Resources mobilized to build synchronous transport infrastructure system

In the period 2020-2025, the estimated total capital to implement, do key and breakthrough transport projects are about 29,928 billion VND with a capital structure of 61.2 percent from the state budget, equivalent to 18,308 billion VND and 38.8 percent of that is mobilized from economic sectors, equivalent to 11,620 billion VND.

Synchronizing the traffic system step by step

Long An has a favorable geographical location, located in the Southern key economic region, the gateway from Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast region to the provinces of Mekong River Delta (MRD) and vice versa, with borders, border gates, river ports to the sea, especially adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City - the major economic center of the nation, therefore Long An has many favorable conditions to promote industrial development. From these potentialities and advantages, the Xth Congress of Provincial Party Committee clearly identifies the importance of traffic and takes advantage of resources for investment and improvement. In the term 2015-2020, the province has implemented 3 key projects and 14 projects under the transport breakthrough program.

Among 14 projects in the breakthrough program with a total investment of nearly 5,900 billion VND, currently 9 projects have been completed, put into use and show their effects; 2 projects are going to be completed and 3 works will be completed after 2020. In addition, during the term, the Department of Transport (MoT) also implemented 7 more urgent works assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, including 5 projects have been completed and 2 works are under construction, ready to be completed and put into use.

With the goal of mobilizing and efficiently using resources from all economic sectors together with the State budget to invest in the construction of transport infrastructure, the province directed to focus on mobilizing all resources to improve and upgrade roads in the province over the past time, creating a driving force for socio-economic development, especially in attracting investment, developing industry, commerce, services and urban development. The Department of Transport informed that the transport network in the province had gradually built up synchronously, basically meeting the needs of transporting, trading goods as well as traveling of people up to the present time, this contributes to successfully implementing the goals of accelerating industrialization, modernization and attracting investment.

Continuing to implement 8 breakthrough traffic works in the period 2020-2025

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Transport - Nguyen Hoai Trung, it is followed by the success of the previous term, implementing a breakthrough program of mobilizing all resources to build a synchronous transport infrastructure system for industrial and urban development. The key economic region of the Resolution of the XIth Congress of Provincial Party Committee, for the term 2020-2025, the Transport sector has proposed a list of 8 breakthrough projects and 3 key projects in the period 2020-2025. All projects in the breakthrough program and selected key projects are located in Tan An city and key districts of Ben Luc, Duc Hoa, Can Duoc, Can Giuoc are planned synchronously to industrial zones and clusters and urban development.

Accordingly, 8 works in the traffic breakthrough programs in the period 2020-2025 include Luong Hoa - Binh Chanh Road, 6.2 km in length, with the scale of urban road, 60-meter wide roadbed with the starting point at Vam Co Dong river, the last point is the boundary of Ho Chi Minh City, 100 percent of investment capital is mobilized from enterprises; Huu Thanh - Tan Buu Road with a length of 12.8 kilometers, the starting point is at the intersection connecting Provincial Road (PR) 830 to Hai Son - Tan Do Road, the end point is Tan Buu bridge with 6-lane urban road scale + 4 mixed lanes, roadbed 102 meters wide, investment capital is mobilized from enterprises; PR826E, the section from PR826C intersection to Can Giuoc bridge, 1.6 kilometers long with 6-lane urban road, 40-meter wide roadbed; Road connecting the road to Rach Doi bridge to PR826E with a length of about 2 kilometers, scale of foundation 40 meter wide; Duc Hoa dynamic axis, approximately 22 kilometers in length, size of 4-lane urban road, 33 meters wide road base; upgrade and expand PR824 from My Hanh intersection to Kenh Ranh bridge, nearly 2.2 kilometers in length, 25 meters wide road base, widen parallel road 5 meters x 2 sides, road surface 15 meters wide, 4 lanes; Tan Tap - Long Hau road, section from Ring Road 4 to PR830, 4.6 kilometers in length with the scale of plain grade 3 road and finally the intersection of Hung Vuong Street – Natioanl Highway 62, Tan An city. At the same time, during the term, the transport sector also undertook the implementation of 3 key projects of the Congress, including completing the Ring Road of Tan An City; PR830E, from the expressway intersection to PR830 and PR827E, from Ho Chi Minh City to Vam Co Dong River.

Focusing on good management of traffic projects

Information from the Department of Transport, in the period 2020-2025, the Transport sector will try to well perform the tasks determined by the XIth Congress of Provincial Party Committee in the field of transportation, meeting the requirements of industrialization, modernize the home province. In which, it will focus on management and implementation of projects under the traffic breakthrough program and 3 key projects; advise the Provincial People's Committee to prioritize investment in projects serving socio-economic development of key economic regions of the province, invest in the construction of drainage systems for some main routes to ensure traffic safety, reduce flooding, and ensure transport infrastructure protection and prolong the operation time of the project.

Deputy Director of the Department of Transport - Nguyen Hoai Trung said that the breakthrough program in traffic in the previous term had affirmed the practical efficiency when they had gradually formed a modern and synchronous traffic system to meet the practical requirements for socio-economic development, especially in attracting investment. Along with that, this term, the breakthrough projects in the transport field and 3 key projects promise to "make it loose" for the traffic, bringing a new, more synchronous, more modern and coherent face. High connection between districts of key economic regions with Long An International Port and Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, the Department is also studying to advise the Provincial People's Committee to deploy 7 traffic projects connecting with Ho Chi Minh City, with a total capital estimated at 24,000 billion VND.

“Once Long An is no longer bound by traffic barriers, it will surely take steps to exploit the potentials and advantages in economic development, creating a premise for the province to maintain its goals. In addition, except traffic projects under the breakthrough program and 3 key projects in the period 2020-2025, with a further vision, the Department of Transport coordinates sectors, localities and neighboring provinces to continue the Government and the Ministry of Transport should soon pay attention to investing in regional transport axes such as the N1 axis; upgrade and expand the N2 axis; National Highway 50; coastal driving force connecting the western coastal provinces and Ho Chi Minh City; continue planning the coastal expressway, and so on in order to complete the transport system of the province as well as of the western provinces connecting with Ho Chi Minh City, creating a driving force for development./.
