Currently, many households are boldly building net houses and greenhouses, applying advanced science and technology to production to improve vegetable productivity and quality.

According to head of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Can Duoc district - Nguyen Hong Chuong, the district currently has about 700 hectares of vegetables, of which more than 300 hectares of vegetables are grown applying high technology. In addition to developing clean vegetable production areas, the district agriculture sector also coordinates with localities to encourage shrimp farmers to promote advanced technology in production to gradually shift from traditional shrimp farming to semi-industrial and industrial farming, thereby gradually improving production efficiency and increasing people's income.

Can Giuoc district are curently focusing on developing high-tech vegetable growing areas according to the plan to improve the quality and value of agricultural products. Up to now, the whole district has over 1,000 hectares of high-tech vegetables. Director of Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Can Giuoc district - Ngo Bao Quoc said: “Thanks to the focus on coordination between departments and branches in building collective labels for agricultural products, training on safe farming techniques according to VietGAP process for producing households, vegetable products of the district have gradually built a brand. Farmers' incomes increase significantly. The district's agricultural products are widely consumed, contributing to socio-economic development as well as opening up opportunities to enrich many farmers.

Towards green agriculture development

Currently, many localities and cooperatives are boldly applying advanced technology and gradually turning to green and environmentally friendly production. Typically, the model of rice cultivation using organic fertilizers of Cay Trom Agricultural Service Trading Cooperative (Vinh Hung district); growing bitter melon, cucumber and melon in the direction of biosecurity of My Thanh Agricultural Cooperative (Thu Thua district); growing safe vegetables of the Muoi Hai Safe Vegetable Cooperative (Can Duoc district);etc. Besides, a number of linkage models between enterprises, cooperatives and farmers achieved high economic efficiency associated with innovation in production, preservation, processing and consumption of products.

With many years of experience in organic rice production, Director of Cay Trom Agricultural Service Cooperative - Bui Van Tuan shared: "Concentrated agricultural production and application of advanced technology bring higher efficiency than traditional farming, because the demand for clean and organic products is increasing while the supply has not yet met the demand. Therefore, linking and expanding the area of organic rice production is an inevitable trend.

Director of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development - Nguyen Thanh Truyen informed that, in order to change thinking from pure agricultural production to agricultural economy, it is necessary to have a material production area large enough to meet world standards, with codes of growing and farming areas for management, traceability and intensive processing, therby enhancing value.

Focus on granting area codes to increase traceability and improve the value of agricultural products of the province

“In the coming time, the Provincial Agriculture sector will focus on coordinating with relevant departments and branches to promote propaganda so that farmers understand clearly that in the integration period, they must be the 4.0 era farmers who dare to think, to do, to invest to apply scientific and technical advances, change production methods, access markets in order to optimize production processes, improve quality and value of agricultural products.

At the same time, the department will focus on renewing thinking and agricultural growth model in the direction of abandoning the model of agricultural processing to production on order, promoting the development of advanced agricultural product processing technology.
