Tan An: Remarkable works in term 2015-2020

Park of Ward 2 phase 1

1. Resolution of Xth Tan An Party Committee Congress proposed 2 key projects: Embankment of ring canal (Ward 3) and Park of Ward 2 (phase 1). These are works that contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Park of Ward 2 has a total investment of over 46 billion VND, it was built on an area of more than 5,700 square meters, including items: walkways, drainage, lighting system, green trees and other items as designed. Up to now, the Park of Ward 2 has completed phase 1.

According to Secretary of Tan An City Party Committee - Tran Kim Lan, the Park of Ward 2 is planned from the begining of Hoang Hoa Tham street to the border of Nguyen Hue street. This work not only costs much investment capital but also is difficult for the site clearance. Therefore, the completed park is a great effort of the city.

Embankment of the Ring Road is completed

2. Ring canal embankment with a length of over 2.2 kilometers is not only a key project but also a welcome work for the XIth City Party Committee Congress.

The work includes many items, including stabilizing the road roofs along the two banks of the canal, constructing sidewalks, drainage systems, flowers, building bridges at the existing residential area, installing decorative lighting lamps on the two embankment sides, etc. This work is divided into 2 projects. The project of investing and constructing embankment of Ring canal, from Nguyen Thong street to Vam Co Tay river, with a length of 830 meters, started construction in July, with an investment of over 42 billion VND and has been completed. Project on embankment of Ring canal, the bordering area from Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street to Bao Dinh sluice has a length of about 1,300 meter, with a total investment of more than 61 billion VND. This project is nearly completed.

Chairman of the Tan An City People's Committee - Le Cong Dinh shared that the construction of the embankment of the Ring Canal is to create a smooth flow for rainy water and urban wastewater. At the same time, this project helps keep the water surface in the inner city, improving the air humidity, especially in the dry months. Since then, it contributes to urban embellishment, one of the conditions to make Tan An city become a grade-II city before 2020. In addition, the project also creates ground for embankment park, etc. This is the place recreation, entertainment, health training for people in the area.

Mr. Tran Van Thieu, a resident of Ward 3, shared that the construction of the Ring Canal embankment contributes to creating a new face for the city. The completion of the work also creates favorable conditions for the people to have a place to exercise - sports, etc.

 Duc Bridge of Tan An City

3. On September 9, 2017, Duc Bridge of Tan An City was inaugurated after 18 months of construction. The old Duc bridge was built a long time ago and degraded, seriously damaged so it does not guarantee traffic safety.

The new Duc Bridge spanning Bao Dinh River, belonging to Nguyen Trung Truc Street connecting Ward 1 and Ward 2. The bridge has a total length of 89.1 meters with 2 mixed lanes, each lane is 4.5 meters wide, the total construction value is 24 billion VND. The bridge has a walkway with a margin of 2.25 meters wide, the total width of the cross section of the bridge is 14.20 meters. The span uses a structure of prestressed concrete beam without load limit (HL 93). After the bridge is completed, the business people in the area on both sides of the bridge are happy that the business will attract more customers. The completed Duc Bridge project not only makes it easy for people to travel but also contributes to perfecting the transportation system, creating a modern and civilized landscape for the city and surrounding area. This project marks a development step in the process of construction investment and development of Tan An City towards an urban city of grade-II.

In addition, the city is also invested by the Central in transport works. Typically, the Tan An 2 Bridge was opened to traffic more than 1 month ago. Tan An 2 Bridge spanning Vam Co Tay River was opened to traffic on June 7, 2020, after 8 months of construction, contributing to reducing traffic congestion on holidays and New Year invested by the Ministry of Transport. Accordingly, Tan An 2 Bridge is about 10 meters from the existing bridge, connecting the area of Ward 2 and Ward 5 (Tan An City). The total construction length is over 1,000 meters, of which the bridge is over 300 meters wide and 8 meters wide with 2 lanes, it costs 110 billion VND. The new bridge is included in the Transport credit project to improve the national road network for the second time, with a total investment of over 6,000 billion VND funded by Japanese ODA loans and domestic reciprocal capital.

Route of National Highway 1A outside Tan An City is expanded 

In addition, Tan An bridge on the bypass will be completed by the end of 2019. The new bridge on the bypass is longer than 410 meters, 12 meters wide, with an investment of more than 164 billion VND from the remaining Government bond capital in 2014- 2016 of the projects to improve and upgrade National Highway (NH) 1 and Ho Chi Minh road section through the Central Highlands.

Currently, people from the Southern provinces going to Ho Chi Minh City across Tan An City will cross 4 bridges spanning Vam Co Tay River, including: Tan An 1, Tan An 2 and 2 bridges on the Tan An bypass. Tan An 1 Bridge is over 200 meters long, 8 meters wide, 2 lanes have been repaired many times due to degradation, small and narrow so often congestion on holidays and New Year. Therefore, the construction of Tan An 2 Bridge will eliminate congestion points and traffic safety, continue to improve transport infrastructure from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta region as well as be connected remote areas, opening up many development opportunities for Tan An in particular and Long An province in general. In addition to the above works, the city has also expanded the bypass road of NH 1A, NH 62, the Hung Vuong section to the expressway and so on over the past term. Also, on the occasion of the XIth City Party Committee Congress, the departments, units, communes, wards also organized many welcome works. Most of them are urban embellishment, building bridges, roads, charity houses, a great solidarity, in association with preserving environmental sanitation, creating green, clean and beautiful landscapes.

In addition to the works, over the past time, the city has also made efforts to mobilize the ground clearance for the Ring Road project, the key project of the Xth Provincial Party Committee's Resolution. This project contributes to the local socio-economic development. It is expected that the Ring Road will reduce the pressure on the roads: NH1, NH1 bypass route through Tan An City and Hung Vuong axis, diverting traffic to suburban areas when it is completed. Since then, it contributes to reducing accidents, limiting traffic congestion occurred on holidays and New Year; creating a continuous traffic axis linking the urban centers of the city with the northern and southern urban areas, etc./.
