Tay Ninh farmers harvest nearly 60% of the Summer–Autumn 2025 rice crop

Until now, farmers in Tay Ninh Province have harvested more than 157,000 ha of Summer–Autumn 2025 rice, accounting for nearly 60% of the total sown area. The remaining area is mostly in the ripening stage.

According to data from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the 2025 Summer–Autumn crop, the province sowed nearly 263,670 hectares of rice, fulfilling 98.8% of the plan. To date, more than 157,000 hectares have been harvested, with an estimated yield of 5.78 tons/ha and a total output of over 900,000 tons

Rice prices remain stable compared with last week. Specifically, the IR50404 variety is priced at 5,500–5,700 VND/kg; the IR4625 sticky rice variety at 6,900–7,200 VND/kg; the Dai Thom 8 variety at 6,400–6,800 VND/kg; the OM18 variety at 6,400–6,800 VND/kg; and the OM5451 variety at 5,500–6,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, more than 100,000 hectares of Summer–Autumn 2025 rice are still unharvested. Several pests and diseases are affecting the fields, including leaf blight (over 1,400 hectares), grain sterility (over 1,700 hectares), and neck blast disease (nearly 900 hectares).

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment is intensifying efforts to tackle pests and diseases in rice fields. Officials are also calling on farmers to keep a close watch on their crops so that any outbreaks can be spotted and dealt with quickly./.
