Tay Ninh prepares for Vietnam - Cambodia production - distribution and logistics connection conference

In preparation for the conference, a training course for traders and human resources managing border trade infrastructure will take place on September 12th. The training content aims to effectively implement Decision No. 259 dated February 25th , 2021 of the Prime Minister approving the Program for developing Vietnam's border trade infrastructure to 2025, with a vision to 2030. Thereby improving the capacity of traders, while enhancing the quality of human resources managing and developing border trade infrastructure.

The conference officially took place on September 13th in Tan Ninh Ward, Tay Ninh Province, with about 300 delegates expected. Participants included leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and its affiliated units; the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce and 100 delegates; leaders of 7 provinces bordering Cambodia (Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, An Giang); and representatives of 4 Departments of Industry and Trade in the Southern region.

The conference focused on evaluating the results of cooperation in developing trade and border trade infrastructure from 2020 to present; exchanging directions to promote investment cooperation and develop trade infrastructure in the border areas of the two countries.

In addition, businesses will have the opportunity to connect with each other, introduce products at their own booths; and sign conference minutes and cooperation agreements between the association, businesses and localities of both sides (if any).

At the meeting, representatives of departments and branches contributed many ideas to perfect the conference script, from reception, communication, security and order, thereby ensuring the event took place solemnly, effectively and made a good impression on domestic and foreign delegations.

Concluding the meeting, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh requested relevant departments, branches and units to coordinate closely, ensuring the organization of the conference solemnly, economically, effectively and safely, contributing to expanding trade and logistics cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in the new period.

In particular, the Department of Industry and Trade of Tay Ninh Province is assigned to be the standing agency, presiding over the content consultation, coordinating activities, and coordinating with related units to carefully implement logistics, reception, and business connection.

This event is not only a forum to promote border economic cooperation but also creates opportunities for deeper connections between businesses of the two countries in the fields of production, distribution and logistics.

With its strategic geographical location, Tay Ninh is expected to become an important bridge in the Vietnam - Cambodia goods supply chain, opening up the prospect of forming modern logistics centers associated with the development of border trade./.
