As reported by the Bangkok-based English-language daily online newspaper The Nation, SAT Governor Kongsak Yodmanee stated that he had ordered the relocation of the Thai boxing event from the Southern Major City Stadium to the International Convention Centre at Prince of Songkla University.

The Southern Major City Stadium is currently flooded, preventing officials from preparing it for the Thai boxing event of the SEA Games.

Kongsak confirmed that other sports venues for other events will not be affected, except for the football stadium prepared for the Group B competition.

Kongsak explained that the Group B football competition was initially planned to take place at Tinsulanonda Stadium in Songkhla, featuring teams from Vietnam, Malaysia, and Laos. The first match is scheduled for December 4.

While Tinsulanonda Stadium itself was not flooded, the road leading to the stadium was submerged. As a result, the venue may be moved to either Rajamangala National Stadium or Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani province instead./.
