Vocational training to meet business requirements

Vocational training is therefore not only the task of the Education and Training sector but also the key to meeting recruitment needs, improving the competitiveness of businesses, and opening up sustainable employment opportunities for workers.

Improving training quality

In recent years, Tay Ninh province has paid great attention to vocational training. Institutions have increasingly improved their operational efficiency, diversified their forms, occupations, and training levels to meet the needs of learners, gradually meeting the recruitment needs of businesses and the labor market.

The whole province currently has 21 vocational training institutions in operation, including 5 colleges, 9 intermediate schools, 1 vocational training center, and 6 other institutions participating in vocational training. Notably, Long An College currently trains 35 training occupations, including 8 groups of occupations: mechanics and automotive technology; electricity, electronics; accounting; information technology; sewing and fashion design; agriculture, veterinary medicine, plant protection; logistics management services; aesthetic and beauty services.

In particular, the school currently has 2 international projects, supporting the school to train 2 professions of mechatronics and logistics according to the standards of the Federal Republic of Germany and Australia, contributing to improving the quality, meeting the requirements of international integration.

Students of Long An College—Can Giuoc Campus visit enterprises

Currently, Long An College cooperates comprehensively with more than 200 enterprises, aiming at the model of "Enterprise in school - School in enterprise." In 2025, the school continues to sign cooperation agreements with many large corporations such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Saigon Co.op, Cat Hai Food Joint Stock Company, etc., creating more opportunities for internships and stable jobs for students. The school is also sponsored by Toyota Vietnam for training equipment, and Mitsubishi for teaching cars

Over the past time, the school has continuously improved the quality of training. The school closely cooperates with enterprises in organizing practical internships for students at enterprises, receives raw materials from enterprises to organize for students to practice in the direction of making products, and introduces jobs for students after graduation. Periodically, the school coordinates with universities, colleges and experts of enterprises to review, adjust, and rebuild the program to be close to the actual situation, meeting the recruitment needs of enterprises and the labor market. Principal of Long An College Le Quoc Hung said, “The school's training philosophy is to train according to what businesses and the labor market need, not according to what the school has. Every year, the school coordinates with the Employment Service Center to review the recruitment needs of businesses to adjust the professions accordingly. In 2025, the school registered to add 2 new training majors, which are Logistics and Beauty Service, bringing the total number of training majors of the school to 35, in order to meet the recruitment needs of businesses as well as the learning needs of students.

In addition, improving the quality of training is the "survival" task. The school focuses all resources on improving the quality of training with the motto that students of the school learn the profession they have chosen, can do the job, can live by the job, and can develop the job.

Specifically, the school constantly trains and improves the qualifications and skills of the staff and lecturers; invests in additional machinery and equipment to serve teaching and learning; innovates programs, teaching methods, testing and assessment methods.

Especially during the training process, the school always cooperates with enterprises to organize practice and internships for students at enterprises. Students can directly access the production process and machinery lines of enterprises, thereby practicing skills and industrial work ethic so that after graduation, they can immediately adapt to the position."

During the learning process, students are enthusiastically guided by lecturers and practice on modern machinery and equipment. By practicing regularly, students increasingly improve their skills and grasp knowledge through each school year. In addition, secondary school students can study culture and vocational training in parallel. After 3 years of study, they can receive a secondary school diploma and a certificate of completion of the high school program to continue their studies at college.

After students graduate from secondary school or college, the school introduces jobs to them. In particular, Long An College organized a job fair, inviting businesses to interview and recruit students right at the school. After the fair, most of the graduates found jobs, thereby stabilizing their income.

Long An College also organized a survey of students after graduation and continued to introduce jobs to those who had not found jobs or had jobs that were not suitable. The school also cooperated with Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education and Vinh Long University of Technical Education so that students could transfer to universities right at the school.

Students have high skills after graduation

With vocational training that meets the needs of businesses, students quickly find suitable jobs after graduating from secondary school or college. From there, they have a stable income and more opportunities to develop in the company. Mr. Nguyen Chau Thinh is a specific example. After graduating from secondary school in Automotive Technology, Mr. Thinh found a job at Toyota Long An Joint Stock Company as a technician.

According to Mr. Thinh, this is a professional, modern working environment with many development opportunities. After nearly 5 years working with the company, he has been trained in his skills and learned a lot of new and useful knowledge, especially participating in training and development classes organized by the company. He also took a vocational test, from which he better understood his own abilities to continue to promote his strengths and overcome his limitations.

With his constant efforts at work, he has a stable income, has more motivation to try to improve his skills further, and actively contribute to the development of the company.

Mr. Thinh shared, “The knowledge at school helps me grasp the operating principles of car parts, read documents, and analyze the cars. Thanks to that, I approach work faster and more effectively. The working environment at the company is very professional and friendly, harmonious, and supportive of each other. I get to work directly on many cars, learn more from experienced colleagues, and thereby improve my skills.”

Deputy General Director of Toyota Long An Joint Stock Company Bui Quoc Dat said, “The company recruits skilled technicians. Currently, vocational training facilities have trained them in basic knowledge about cars. Therefore, the company always creates conditions for students to come to study, experience new knowledge, update changes in new cars today, and access new technology so that after graduation they can work immediately.”

Enterprises interview to recruit students at the Job Fair

Tay Ninh province has a workforce of about 1.7 million people of working age, accounting for 52.4% of the population. In 2025, enterprises will need to recruit about 50% of unskilled workers in industries such as garment, leather shoes, processing, plastics, wood, etc. The remaining 50% will be recruited in fields requiring professional skills such as processing, manufacturing, engineering, technology, economics, etc.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Dai Tanh, it is predicted that the province's labor market from 2026 will see an increase in labor recruitment demand following the province's investment attraction. In particular, the quality of recruitment by enterprises will improve, gradually reducing the recruitment of unskilled workers; the rate of recruitment of skilled workers will be dominant.

In particular, enterprises continue to focus on processing, manufacturing, and engineering industries, especially in production fields such as high-tech agriculture, food processing, seafood, and specific industries such as mechanical engineering, electricity-electronics, and semiconductor technology. Vocational training associated with the practical needs of enterprises is becoming an inevitable direction to improve the quality of human resources. This is the key for the province's labor market to develop sustainably, meet the requirements of integration and competition in the new period, and contribute to socio-economic development./.
