The 11th session of Xth Provincial People's Council passes 27 important resolutions

On July 12, after nearly 2 days of working with the spirit of democracy, seriousness and high responsibility, the 11th session - the mid-year meeting of Long An People's Council, term X took place successfully, completed all the content and program proposed.

At the meeting, the delegates of Provincial People's Council focused on researching and considering many important contents and reached a very high consensus to pass 27 resolutions in 8 field on socio-economic development, public investment, finance - budget, land, human resource training, education, health care, policies related to drug addiction treatment organization. These are issues that both directly affect the people and have a long-term nature, serving as the basis for socio-economic development and operation of the Provincial People's Council.

The People's Council of Long An was honored to receive Politburo member, Standing Vice Chairman of National Assembly - Tran Thanh Man and the National Assembly's Delegation, giving a speech to direct, orient, and suggest in carrying out the task of socio-economic development of the province and activities of Provincial People's Council.

At this meeting, the Provincial People's Council comprehensively analyzed and evaluated the results the socio-economic development plan for the first 6 months of 2023. In which, the Provincial People's Council recognized the efforts and determination of Provincial People's Committee, all levels and branches in the process of directing, operating and organizing the implementation of socio-economic development targets, tasks and solutions according to the Resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council.

At the same time, Provincial People's Council also frankly pointed out the shortcomings in a number of sectors and fields: the economic growth target in the first 6 months of 2023 has not met expectations; State budget revenues have not yet reached the assigned targer, etc.

Provincial People's Council required Provincial People's Committee, all levels and branches to uphold the spirit of "dare to think, to speak, to do, to innovate, to face difficulties and challenges, to act for the common good", focus on implementing proactively, closely, synchronously, comprehensively and effectively the tasks of socio-economic development, especially focusing on accelerating in the last 6 months of the year, striving to achieve the economic growth target of 2023 according to the Resolution (8 to 8.5%).

In particular, it is necessary to focus on strengthening monitoring, inspection, supervision, urging and speeding up the implementation of 3 breakthrough programs and 3 key projects, especially important inter-regional and provincial transport projects; urgently deploying and implementing the provincial planning for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, ensuring efficiency and meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development of the province; continue to improve the efficiency of State management in investment, land, construction and administrative reform, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed that 2023 is the middle year of the term, the task is very heavy but also opens up many opportunities in the context of integration, development and breakthrough, especially on the basis of realizing the Provincial Plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Therefore, he called on all cadres, civil servants, Party members in the political system and elected deputies, together with all classes of people and the business community, continue to promote their sense of responsibility, renew their thinking and working styles, and overcome the barriers, be  dynamic, creative for the common good.
