On September 17, 1967, at the Second Congress of Heroes and Soldiers of the South, the Central Committee of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam decided to donate to the Party and people of Long An a title and a flag inscribed eight golden words: “Trung dũng kiên cường, toàn dân đánh giặc” (With loyalty and valiance, the whole people participate in fighting enemy). This is one of the sonorous points for the glorious revolutionary tradition of the army and people of Long An province in the struggle for independence and freedom for the nation.
