At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc was very excited and honored to welcome the Korean Consulate General Delegation as the first international delegation to Long An after the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Nguyen Van Duoc, the 4th Covid-19 epidemic, Long An is one of the "epidemic" centres of the country; The total number of infections is very high. At peak times, , the province has averagely nearly 1,000 cases per day. The Covid-19 epidemic has left great consequences for the socio-economic development of the province. With the support of the Central Government as well as the drastic direction of the province and localities, the epidemic has been under control, the rate of 2nd shot of vaccination for people aged 18 and odler is very high, about 98 percent.

Regarding production and business activities, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee informed that currently, in the province, about 91 percent of enterprises have resumed production. Economic indicators started to be positive in October 2021, especially Korean enterprises and other FDI enterprises in the province.

The province now has more than 200 Korean investment projects, with a total registered capital of more than 860 million USD, ranking first among FDI enterprises in terms of investment capital in the province.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged the contributions of Korean businesses to the socio-economic development of Vietnam in general and of Long An in particular. In addition to contributing to economic development, Korean businesses also accompany in epidemic prevention and control, participate in social security work, etc.

Korean Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City - Kang Myongil shared with Long An province's difficulties during the recent epidemic. He thanked the Vietnamese Government and the leaders of Long An province for having policies for foreigners, including Koreans, to be vaccinated.

Through the exchange, Korean businesses are quite satisfied with the investment environment in Long An. The Consul General proposed to provincial leaders a number of issues on easing entry regulations, medical isolation, and supporting experts and investors coming to Long An to work.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed that he will create all favorable conditions for Korean businesses to invest effectively in the province; the issues beyond its competence, the province will propose the Central Government to consider and solve.

Towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2022), the two sides wish to continue promoting the relationship between the two countries to develop harmoniously in terms of both economy and culture, in which, Long An strives to become a friendly and successful destination for Korean investors./.
