Deputy PM Le Van Thanh: ‘Although Covid-19 epidemic situation gradually controlled, Long An must not be subjective in fighting it'
"Although it is gradually controlled the situation, Long An must not be subjective in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic" is the direction of Deputy PM - Le Van Thanh during his working session with Long An province on Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control, socio-economic development in the first 7 months of the province in the afternoon of August 24.

As of 6 a.m. on August 24, Long An province recorded 19,079 cases of Covid-19, of which the number of cases in the community was 19,046 cases, the number of imported cases was 33. The province prepares scenarios to ensure health care for responding the with 20,000, 25,000 or 30,000 cases, without unexpectedly passiveness.
The province issued a Directive to direct all levels and sectors to strengthen social distancing and measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic; in which mobilized the drastic and synchronous participation of the whole political system from the province to the grassroots in epidemic prevention and control.

In the first 6 months of the year, key indicators on socio-economic development were higher than those of the same period last year. However, from the beginning of July until now, when the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic was very complicated, the province's socio-economic situation was severely affected. From July 13 until now, to prevent the epidemic, the province has stopped the operation of businesses in the area, except for essential businesses and businesses operating under the "3-on-site" measure.

In the remaining months of 2021, Long An will continue to focus on drastically implementing the epidemic prevention and control work, striving to basically control the epidemic by the end of August to start transfering to a new normal. In which, it focuses on screening tests to separate F0 from the community, gradually decreases the epidemic level (keeps the "green zones", gradually decreases the epidemic level in the "red zones", "orange zones", "yellow zones); focuses on vaccinating people, etc.
Long An proposed the PM and the Ministry of Finance to pay attention to and support the province's Covid-19 prevention and control funds to ensure sufficient funding for Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control until the end of the year. The province also wishes to support personnel with expertise in the treatment of Covid-19 patients, especially critically ill and severely transferred patients in order to minimize the mortality rate; additionally support for SARS-CoV-2 virus antigen test and PCR test kit; Moderna vaccine to inject 2nd dose for people who received 1st dose in July 2021.
At the same time, the province proposed the Government to soon issue support policies on reducing and extending taxes and fees; reducing loan interest, extending debt for businesses. In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is requested to strengthen the implementation of trade promotion solutions to enhance connectivity and consumption of goods and agricultural products.

Deputy PM - Le Van Thanh acknowledged Long An's efforts in epidemic prevention and control over the past time and approved the proposals and recommendations of the province. He said that the number of Covid-19 cases in Long An started to decrease, showing that the province is gradually controlling the epidemic situation. However, he emphasized, the locality must not be subjective because only a small negligence, an outbreak may spread the whole province; must focus on testing and screening to separate all F0 from the community and strictly manage F1. At the same time, it is necessary to prepare medical equipment, ventilators, oxygen systems, so on to promptly save and treat Covid-19 patients, minimizing the mortality rate.
During this time, the province needs to do a good job of controlling the disease, strictly control the implementation of Directive 16/CT-TTg, and be determined to wipe out the epidemic to quickly restore production. He said that the "3-on-site" production facilities must ensure safety, strictly follow epidemic prevention procedures and have negative test results for SARS-CoV-2 with all workers, employees and managers are allowed to operate.
In addition, the province needs to make efforts to take care of people in the blockade area, support food and medicine so that households can safely abide by regulations on epidemic prevention. The central government will also pay attention and timely support the province in epidemic prevention and control. The Deputy PM believes that Long An will quickly control and repel the epidemic as soon as possible, with the efforts and determination of the whole political system and the consensus of the people./.
