Dong Thap: wooden drum sets national record
Dong Thap (VNA) – A wooden drum in the Phuong Nam Cultural Tourism Area of the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap was recognised as Vietnam’s largest drum by the Vietnam Record Association.

A ceremony to announce the status was held on January 24.
The drum is 2.9 metres tall, with a diameter of six metres and carved from a 10-tonne wood block from Cameroon by artists of the Doi Tam drum-making village in northern Ha Nam province.
Dong Thap province is well-known for its hundred-year-old Sa Dec flower village, Cham Chim National Park and Go Thap historical relic site./.
