Enterprises accompany locality to fight against epidemic

Provincial leaders give certificates of merit to entrepreneurs and enterprises for their contributions to the province's socio-economic development and social security in recent years

1. As a state-owned economic unit, under the Southern Electricity Corporation, it is responsible for managing, operating, distributing and selling electricity in Long An province, Power Company of Long An (PCLA) always strives to fulfill its production and trade tasks and well perform social security work in the province.

After nearly 70 years of establishing and developing, along with the comprehensive innovation of the Power industry, PCLA is constantly developing, overcoming all difficulties, rising up, growing up in all aspects and being one of the leading development units in Southern Power Corporation. Particularly in 2020, despite facing many difficulties and challenges due to the Covid-19 impact, the province's electricity industry always strives and tries to complete the production and trade tasks in 2020 at the highest level. The annual growth rate of electricity consumption is over 13 percent, it reached nearly 7 billion kWh in 2020. The company provides electricity for more than 500,000 customers, nearly 100 percent of households in the province have electricity to use.

To achieve that result, in addition to the solidarity, attachment and high determination of all officers, staff and employees, PCLA also received the attention and guidance from the Southern Power Corporation; Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, departments, agencies and local authorities.

PCLA constantly innovates and creates, upholds the unit's roles and responsibilities, ensures sufficient electricity supply to serve the needs of electricity users, contributes to promoting socio-economic development of the province. In addition to ensuring electricity supply for daily life, production and trade, PCLA also strives to provide stable and quality electricity to concentrated isolation areas, hospitals, and medical facilities for treating Covid-19 patients. The company mobilizes the maximum source of backup transformers, fully arranges human resources, vehicles, supplies and equipment for power supply in isolation and concentrated treatment areas for Covid-19 in the province; strengthen inspection, maintenance and repair of electrical grid defects, minimize power cuts in the above areas. The company closely cooperates with local authorities to support and facilitate the implementation of plans to ensure regional power supply. In the process of implementation, the Company always fully equipped with means and protective tools for officials and employees; at the same time, it regularly reminds and asked them to strictly comply with the prevention and control of Covid-19 to avoid the infectious risk.

PCLA also quickly implemented an organization to reduce electricity prices and reduce money for customers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, contributing to the Vaccine Fund, the Provincial Fund for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, mobilizing to support the epidemic prevention and control in the area, etc. The total funding for Covid-19 prevention and control in 2021 is up to billions of VND (excluding reduction of electricity price and electricity bill).

According to PCLA Director - Le Hoang Oanh, in addition to striving in the implementation of political tasks, production and trade tasks, PCLA also focuses on social security work in the area. On average, every year, the company implements programs with the amount of hundreds of millions of VND to build gratitude houses, charity houses, give books, notebooks, scholarships, gifts for poor children to overcome difficulties, etc. The company has activities with profound meaning, timely support and share difficulties with policy families, poor households and so on in the area.

2. Investing in Long An province from 2010 to now, Thang Loi Real Estate Group Joint Stock Company (Thang Loi Group) has implemented nearly 10 real estate projects (urban and urban embellishment) in the province. Joining the journey of more than 120 days "supporting" for the frontline team, the company presented nearly 1 million meaningful gifts including necessities, welfare bags, medical equipment, protective gear, so on to hundreds of medical staff, doctors, soldiers and volunteers in many localities such as Duc Hoa, Can Giuoc, Ben Luc, Tan Tru, Tan An city, etc.

Thang Loi Group also has many activities to accompany the locality with a total cost of nearly 10 billion VND. Typically, the program "Giving affection - wishing pleasure" sent more than 2,000 boxes of essential necessities to customers. The program "Welfare gift bags - Spreading affection" awarded nearly 1 million welfare bags to difficult workers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic in the province; build a bridge worth 500 million VND to Binh Duc Primary School (Ben Luc district).

The company set up a Quick Response Team (QRT) with 5 vehicles to provide medical support and necessities for officials, employees, residents and customers timely if they are unfortunately suffering from F0 during the Covid-19 epidemic. I always mobilize and invite entrepreneurs and enterprises in and outside the province to invest in the economic development of the province; participate in recommendations and proposals to competent authorities to focus on investing in developing a circular economy model, focusing on developing local infrastructure such as key traffic works connecting Long An with the provinces and cities of the Southern key economic region and the Mekong River Delta; together with Long An implement solutions to invest in main traffic routes, develop new urban models, embellish urban areas that are not synchronized in order to improve the quality of people's lives, contributing to making Long An become a livable place in the Mekong River Delta.

Paying attention to improving the quality of people's lives, developing experiential and educational tourism forms; promoting start-up programs, calling for investment in developing high-tech agriculture, promoting trade through agricultural product exchanges and trade centers to create many high- and stable-income jobs for local workers, creating safe products for consumers, contributing to promoting the image of the province with domestic and international friends.
