According to the Chairman of Can Duoc District People's Committee - Huynh Van Quang Hung, recently, the survey team (including the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Provincial Agricultural Project Management Board, the District People's Committee, the district functional agencies and the People's Committee of Long Huu Dong Commune) surveyed the actual erosion situation at the banks of Nuoc Man Canal in Long Huu Dong commune.

As a result, every year, the erosion occurs in the months that have high tide, however, the degree of erosion is not very dangerous, there is no urgent relocation. The main reasons of the erosion are the impact of flow on the canal and the influence of heavy waterway transport. Besides, climate change and sea level rise also have impacts on the erosion process with an increasingly serious tendency.

Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of life and property of the people, firstly, the People's Committee of Can Duoc district People's Committee directs the reinforcement in some positions that are at high risk of erosion. However, because the canal is very deep and the flow is strong, the reinforcement cost is high. Therefore, the district requested the provincial People's Committee to provide funding support for implementation.

For long-term solutions, the whole canal must be built stone embankment with very high cost. Therefore, the provincial People's Committee has requested ministries and central branches to support this project./.
