Agriculture maintains its supporting role
In the context of strong industrialization, the province's agriculture, forestry and fishery sector still maintains its role as a pillar of the economy, creating a balance and making a key contribution to the province's sustainable development. Over the past 5 years, this sector has maintained an average growth rate of 3.5%/year, contributing more than 15% of the province's GRDP.
To enhance value and affirm the brand, the agricultural sector focuses on food safety production to meet domestic and foreign demand. Currently, the whole province has 127 facilities applying advanced quality management systems such as HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Dinh Thi Phuong Khanh, on the current production momentum, the agricultural sector is actively implementing production scenarios, striving to achieve a growth rate of 4% this year. One of the top priorities is that the sector will strive to ensure rice output of over 4.1 million tons in 2025. In addition, the department focuses on supporting cooperatives and enterprises to remove difficulties in procedures and growing area codes to enhance the value and brand of Tay Ninh agricultural products.

In addition, the province is promoting the conversion of crop structure to suit the market, applying science and technology to production and expanding value chain linkages between farmers, cooperatives and enterprises. "We identify agriculture as not only a pillar but also a field with potential for breakthroughs if invested in the right direction. Tay Ninh aims to build a modern, ecological and highly competitive agriculture in the region," Ms. Dinh Thi Phuong Khanh affirmed.
The efforts of the agricultural sector not only help ensure food security and income for farmers but also contribute significantly to the implementation of the new-style rural development program.
According to the review results, after the merger, the whole province has 67/82 communes meeting the new-style rural standards (accounting for nearly 82%), of which 5 communes meet the advanced new-style rural standards. This is a solid premise for Tay Ninh to continue improving the quality of life in rural areas and narrowing the development gap between regions.
In Duc Lap commune is a newly established locality after merging Duc Lap Ha commune, My Hanh Bac commune and part of Duc Hoa Thuong commune (Duc Hoa district, Long An province). Thanks to effectively utilizing available potential and new investment policies, Duc Lap commune has met the new-style rural standards and is aiming to meet the advanced new-style rural standards in the next term.
“In this term, we will take advantage of opportunities and effectively mobilize resources to focus on building and improving the criteria. The determination to bring Duc Lap to the advanced new-style rural standard by the end of the term is a big goal, demonstrating the spirit of innovation and aspiration to rise of the whole commune,” Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Duc Lap commune Phan Duy Quang affirmed.
Tay Ninh currently has 6 enterprises recognized as high-tech agricultural enterprises, along with about 180 packaging facility codes and nearly 400 growing area codes on a total area of more than 16,300 hectares that have been licensed to export to many demanding markets such as Korea, Japan, the United States, the EU, etc.
It is estimated that in the first 9 months of 2025, the province will grant new licenses to 150 FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than 690 million USD, raising the total number of FDI projects in the province to more than 1,920 projects with a total registered capital of 24.3 billion USD.

Southern Oil and Chemical Joint Stock Company (Thanh Loi commune) continuously expands production scale and develops the market
Inheriting solid foundations, Tay Ninh province is showing a new vitality with remarkable progress in many fields. The average GRDP growth rate over the past 5 years has reached 6.73%, bringing the province's economic scale to an expected 350,000 billion VND this year - ranking 10th in the country. This is the result of timely and effective leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, and the significant contribution of the business community and people.
Currently, the whole province has nearly 38,200 operating enterprises with a total registered capital of more than 916,800 billion VND. These figures demonstrate the increasing investment attraction and open, transparent business environment.
The merger of Long An (old) and Tay Ninh (old) provinces opens up a larger economic space, especially in the industrial sector. The connection between infrastructure, diverse industries, supply chains and labor resources creates favorable conditions for enterprises to develop scale and expand the market.
Typically, over the past 15 years, Southern Oil and Chemical Joint Stock Company (Thanh Loi commune) has continuously expanded its production scale and developed the market. Before the merger, Tay Ninh province (old) accounted for about 20% of the company's consumption market share. Therefore, expanding administrative boundaries not only helps enterprises access larger markets but also optimizes the supply chain and reduces logistics costs.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam - General Director of Southern Oil and Chemicals Joint Stock Company shared: “After the merger, the opportunity to expand the market further encourages us to increase production. We are planning to open more factories, invest in more automation lines and recruit more local workers. With an open, transparent investment environment and active support from local authorities, businesses are completely confident in expanding their scale, aiming for sustainable and long-term development in Tay Ninh”.
Not only supporting the enterprise, local authorities also play a major role in promoting industrial development through administrative reform, creating a favorable investment environment. Notably, domestic investment has recorded strong growth. In the past 9 months, Tay Ninh has licensed 125 new domestic investment projects with a total newly registered capital of nearly 30,000 billion VND. To date, the total number of domestic projects in the province has exceeded 3,080.
"In the past 5 years, the attention and support of Party committees and authorities at all levels has created an open, transparent, and competitive investment environment. This helps businesses feel secure in expanding investment and developing sustainably" - said Mr. Trinh Van Hai - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Hai Son Company Limited (Duc Hoa commune).

From the impressive figures on economic growth, the growth of the business community to the progress in agricultural development and new rural construction, Tay Ninh is really transforming strongly after the merger.
In October 2025, the 1st Congress of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee will take place, continuing to outline solid steps in the next 5 years. The upcoming goals are not only aimed at simple growth but also focus on sustainable, inclusive and harmonious development between regions and sectors. This is the important foundation for building an increasingly prosperous, civilized and modern Tay Ninh in the new era./.
In order for Tay Ninh province's products to easily access demanding markets, the province needs to consolidate and expand the current supply chain, build new supply chains in a sustainable direction, contributing to bringing the province's key products in particular and Vietnam in general further into the world market".
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang
After the merger, Tay Ninh province aims to develop into a new growth pole, creating a development link between the Southeast region and the Southwest region, especially connecting the two economies of Vietnam and Cambodia. The province is researching the construction and formation of trading centers, connecting trade, tourism and promoting international cooperation".
