Focus on accelerating socio-economic development targets

Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut requested sectors and localities to accelerate the implementation of socio-economic development targets, especially state budget collection and public investment disbursement.

According to the assessment of the Provincial People's Committee, in August, the province's economic situation continued to achieve many positive results in all fields. Industrial production activities developed compared to the same period, the industrial production index increased by 11.88%, the province continued to be a bright spot in attracting investment; the public investment sector was focused on and directed with the disbursement rate reaching quite high compared to the plan.

In addition, the implementation of key projects and the Program to mobilize all resources to build a synchronous transport infrastructure system to serve industrial and urban development in key economic regions has been focused on.

Cultural and social activities have developed, national defense and security have been maintained stably.

However, in addition to the outstanding highlights, there are still certain limitations in the socio-economic development of August such as the difficult situation of agricultural product consumption, and diseases on crops and livestock still occurring in some localities.

Although industrial production activities have shown signs of recovery, they are still slow compared to requirements, and some enterprises are still facing difficulties in finding orders. The progress of public investment disbursement is quite good compared to the plan and localities nationwide, but there are still some investors with disbursement rates lower than 60% of the plan; some localities have low budget collection rates.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut acknowledged and commended the results of sectors and localities in the first 8 months of the year, especially in state budget collection, public investment disbursement, and improving the investment attraction environment.

To ensure the completion of socio-economic development targets in 2024, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut requested sectors and localities to accelerate the implementation of socio-economic development targets, especially in state budget collection and public investment disbursement.

Localities with low budget collection must have solutions to increase revenue, ensuring the completion of assigned targets; Localities that do not meet the budget revenue target will have to reduce expenditure accordingly.

Regarding the disbursement of public investment capital, he also suggested that sectors and localities must focus on this work; for investors whose disbursement rate of public investment capital has not met the target, it is necessary to be more active in finding the causes as well as solutions to accelerate; relevant sectors must have solutions to support and remove difficulties and obstacles for enterprises to promote production and business.

In September, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut suggested that the Department of Planning and Investment and other departments and sectors should focus on urgently completing the outline of the political report to the Provincial Party Committee, and by the end of September, the outline must be completed and reported to the Editorial sector to prepare for the Congress.
