According to Long An Market Management Department, in 9 months, subordinated teams focused on checking, controlling the market and detecting 1,218 violations.
The subordinated teams seized over 75,800 packages of smuggled foreign cigarettes
Recently, smuggling activities in the border area have tended to increase. The smuggling and transportation of foreign cigarettes by motorboats recur.
In particular, there has been an increase in the transportation of foreign manufactured goods such as electronics, refrigeration, clothes, shoes, bags, used household goods.
The production and trading of counterfeit goods, intellectual property infringement have been increasingly sophisticated.
In the first 9 months of 2019, the provincial Market Management force inspected 1,608 times, detected and handled 1,218 cases. Accordingly, there were 164 cases of transporting and trading banned goods; 639 commercial fraud cases; 16 cases of counterfeit goods and intellectual property infringement; 274 business violations. The total amount of fine and budget contribution was 3.78 billion VND.
Besides, the teams also seized over 75,800 packages of smuggled foreign cigarettes, 1 car, 48 motorcycles, 19 tons of granulated sugar, 69 kilograms of fake brand-name monosodium glutamate (MSG), 375 kilograms of illegally imported MSG, 9 tons of used clothes.
Smuggled sugar is temporarily seized
According to leaders of the Market Management Department, in the fourth quarter, businesses start preparing goods for Tet, purchasing power also increases. Therefore, smuggling, trade fraud, production and trading of counterfeit and poor quality goods will be complicated. In addition, the world economic situation is still volatile, gasoline prices may increase in the near future. Therefore, the prices of goods in the fourth quarter will fluctuate, smuggling activities will also increase and be complicated.
From now until the end of 2019, the Market Management Department continues to direct its subordinated teams to inspect and handle violations of the transportation of banned and smuggled goods, including trading smuggled cigarettes in the domestic market, cigarette wholesale and retail establishments, restaurants, grocery store, and so on.
At the same time, the Teams will continue to implement Plan No.95/KH-QLTT dated February 7, 2018 on strengthening prevention and combat of smuggling and trading of counterfeit and poor quality fertilizers and pesticides; medicine, cosmetics, functional foods, traditional medicine will also be focused on inspecting./.
