Kien Tuong town sees changes through 2017

Of which, the trading and services sector gained over VND1,434 billion, presenting a year on year increase of 27.4 percent.

Kien Tuong trading center, traditional and night markets in wards 1, 2, Binh Hiep and Thanh Hung currently maintain the stability of its operation. Goods are sold at reasonable prices. Total State budget in 2017 was estimated to reach at VND119 billion.

The industrial production,“small-scale” industry and construction achieved over VND712 billion, a rise of 23.5 percent against the previous year mostly from garment industry, tile manufacturing, food processing, bottling drinks manufacturing, rice production sectors.

Investors who are operating in Binh Hiep International Border Gate Economic Zone include Tainan Enterprises, International Victory, Hoa Binh Joint Stock Company, Cao Vien Sanest Company, Kim Thang Import Export Co.,Ltd., have helped the province development of economy, create local jobs and contribute to poverty reduction, said Secretary of Kien Tuong town’s Party Committee, Pham Tan Hoa.

Agricultural production still takes the important role as it contributed more than VND1,118 billion to the gross output of production in 2017.

The total area of rice cultivation is approximately 29,722 hectares, producing 181,122 tons annually.

The local authorities has developed the program on growing high-quality rice and hi-tech applied agricultural zones in communes of Thanh Hung, Tuyen Thanh, Binh Hiep, Binh Tan and Thanh Tri with the total planning area of 7,755 hectares and the participation of 1,696 households.

Using new technology and innovative approaches, farmers can boost production and earn more profits. High-technology farming is well applied to increase the quality of products and contribute in protecting environment and reducing production expenditures

Kien Tuong town’s government has also invested in building different models of transport from land to waterway transport system and irrigational works.

Implementing the decision No.05-NQ/TXU dated on May 31, 2017 on the development of Kien Tuong town by 2020, the local authorities will focus on promoting key projects, such as embankment system, Long An International Border Gate Economic Zone, Aiport’s urban area, Cau Day residential area, Kien Tuong trading center, Children’s cultural center.
