Accordingly, IHI Group, formerly known as Ishikawajima - Harima Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., is a corporation specializing in manufacturing ships, aircraft engines, turbochargers for cars, industrial machines, boilers for power stations and other facilities, suspension bridges and other transport-related machinery. Founded in 1853 with the original base of Ishikawajima Shipyard in Tokyo, IHI has now become a global company with a system of over 259 consolidated companies and over 27,500 employees worldwide.

IHI Corporation officially invested in Vietnam since 2002 in an ODA project of the Japanese government. Until now, IHI's activities in Vietnam have expanded to many fields, from railway system refurbishment, major road and bridge construction projects to the design of freight trains to specialized offshore vehicles. These projects have greatly contributed to the development of Vietnam's production supply chain and social infrastructure.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut highly appreciated the capacity and achievements of IHI Group. Mr. Ut said that Long An province is in the phase of focusing on industrial development, especially industrial and transport infrastructure. Therefore, IHI Group's products are essential to local needs. He expected that in the coming time, IHI Group will have many specific investment and cooperation activities in the province. On the local side, the Long An provincial government is committed to providing the best support for the company's activities when it comes to investing and cooperating in Long An.
