Long An: Department of Market Surveillance sanctioned 154 violations in the first 2 months of 2019

Department of Market Surveillance (DMS) in Long An province checked 205 cases in the first 2 months of 2019, handled 154 violations, and paid over VND 183 million to the budget.

Particularly, the Market Surveillance Teams discovered many cases of smuggling banned goods, trading banned products of illegally imported tobacco and seizing 5,212 packages of illegally imported cigarettes and 11 motorbikes. Meanwhile, the Market Surveillance Teams also inspects and detects 23 violations of food safety, 48 cases violating regulations on price listing, 12 cases violating goods trademark, 5 cases violating fake goods and intellectual property, etc,. Especially, the teams also checked and discovered 3 business cases of fake motorcycle parts, made a fine of VND 12 million, confiscated 337 products of fake motorcycle parts.

In March 2019, the DMS directed the teams to continue checking and dealing with violations of trading smuggled cigarettes in the domestic market. In which, the teams focus on inspecting the cigarette business at wholesale and retail shops, restaurants, food and beverage service, grocery’s. Besides, the teams also promote the struggle against smuggling, trade frauds, fake goods; inspection of pharmaceutical products, cosmetics, functional foods, medicinal herbs and traditional medical remedy.
