Long An has 130 out of 166 communes meeting housing criteria

Implementing the criteria of residential houses, in recent years, the provincial authorities have focused on carried out programs to delete temporary and dilapidated houses for many households in difficult circumstances.

Long An has nearly 253,000 houses meeting the standards of the Ministry of Construction

Local authorities regularly reviewed households who still have difficulty in housing to provide timely support.

The first goal is to encourage the efforts of them, create favorable conditions for them to access the capital from the provincial Social Policy Bank, then mobilize the support of companies to repair and renew houses.

Thanks to specific solutions, up to now, Long An has nearly 253,000 houses meeting the standards of the Ministry of Construction, accounting for over 79 percent of the total number of houses in the province, an increase of more than 66,000 houses compared to 2010. Accordingly, the number of temporary and dilapidated houses decreases year by year. The number of temporary and dilapidated houses is about 5,300, accounting for 1.6 percent. The whole province has 130 out of 166 communes meeting housing criteria.

Residential housing is one of the important criteria in the set of National criteria for new-style rural areas. If this criterion is well implemented, it will contribute to changing the appearance of the countryside, creating beautiful landscapes and environment, improving the quality of life of the people./.
