Long An: Localities meet urban cultural and civilized standards

Culture and Information Department of Ben Luc District, Culture and Sports Center of Tan Thanh District receive emulation flags from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In 2017, the province achieved remarkable results in culture, sports and tourism. The programs titled “the entire people unite to build cultural life” and “build new rural area” greatly contributed in the development of the province and improved of residents’ living standards. At the end of 2017, there were 116 among 192 communes, wards and towns meeting all cultural and civilized criteria.

Regarding of tourism, in 2017, Long An attracted over 1 million tourists, increasing 16 percent compared to the same period in 2016. The total revenue was estimated to reach VND500 billion.

In addition, popularization movement, cultural, arts, and entertainment activities were effectively carried out. Sport activities also noticeably developed as planned.

This year, the local department continues to intensify in state management, inspections, checking on cultural activities,… Besides, the province plans to organize the Provincial National Games together with train and prepare young athletes to compete in upcoming national championships.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also awarded the emulation flags to Culture and Information Department of Ben Luc District and Culture and Sports Center of Tan Thanh District./.
