Long An: Meeting to celebrate Party, celebrate Lunar New Year of Rat 2020

Provincial Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh reviewed the glorious tradition of the Communist Party of Vietnam over 90 years of construction and growth. At the same time, he informed some outstanding results on socio-economic development, security, defense and local political system activities in 2019. Accordingly, most of the targets major of the Provincial Resolution reached and exceeded the plan.

The province's economy maintained a good growth rate of 9.41 percent, ensuring the 5-year average growth target of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress X (from 9-9.5 percent); The economic structure continues to move in the direction of industry - construction, trade - services, agriculture - forestry - fishery. People's living standards improved, average income per capita reached 72.67 million VND per year, an increase of 7.14 million VND compared to 2018. Total state budget revenue reached about 18,000 billion VND.

The field of culture - society has made a lot of progress. The rate of poor households decreases to 1.5 percent, and near-poor households to 2.7 percent. In particular, in recent years, the province has received the attention and support of former President Truong Tan Sang to mobilize sponsors and businesses to invest in building rural infrastructure, support for breeding cows, build schools, equip water filters for students in remote and isolated areas and border areas of the province. Thereby, it contributes to improving the material and spiritual life, creating trust and excitement for the people.

National defense and security are maintained and strengthened. The political system has been streamlined and organized in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization through the implementation of Project No. 02 of the Provincial Party Committee.

The Party committees at all levels focused on strictly implementing the Central Resolution 4 (XIIth term) on building and regulating the Party in association with Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo with Theme 2019 and the Party's regulations on responsibility of good example of cadres and party members.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Provincial Party Committee thanked the great and important contributions of all levels, sectors, generations of officials, party members and all class of people, the business community throughout the province, and so on in successfully completing the 2019 missions.

2020 is the last year of the tenure and is a decisive moment in the leadership to successfully implement the Resolution of the Xth Provincial Party Congress, contributing to the whole country to successfully implement the Resolution of the XIIth Party Congress, the year of conducting the Party Congress at all levels and celebrating many important events of the country, and so on. In that context, the Provincial Party Committee affirmed the common spirit of 2020 is to be more proactive, positive, dynamic and creative. The provincial Party Committee also voted unanimously for 21 major targets, including ensuring the economic growth rate (GRDP) from 9.5-9.6 percent, etc.
