Long An Party Committee conference defines targets for 2019

The conference passes 21 major targets of the provincial Party Committee’s resolution in 2019

2018 is the first year of implementing the resolution of the 10th Party Committee session with 21 out of 21 set targets obtained.

Economic growth rate is estimated to reach 10.36 percent, higher than the set target in the resolution. Of these, agricultural-forestry-seafood sector posts the growth rate of 4.88 percent, industry-construction 15.41 percent and commerce and service 6.37 percent.

Economic structure continues moving in the right direction of industrialization and modernization, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita reaches 68.62 million a person a year, total budget revenue tops VND13.8 trillion.

Hi-tech agricultural program in association with agricultural restructuring has been implemented efficiently. Social and cultural conditions has been kept stable.

Besides the above achievements, implementation of the committee’s resolution shows some limitations, for instance unsustainable agricultural production, spontaneous crop transfer, behind requirement occupation rate at industrial zones. There are problems in land, construction, urban order management, environmental protection and waste treatment.

In 2019, the provincial Party Committee determines to speed up economic restructuring, improve growth quality and mobilize all resources to efficiently carry out two breakthrough programs and three major works in the resolution of the 10th Party Committee congress./.
