Long An Provincial People's Committee starts construction of Rach Dua bridge

On February 2, Long An Provincial People's Committee, Department of Transport held a groundbreaking ceremony to construct Rach Dua bridge in Long Hau commune, Can Giuoc district.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh, leader of some departments and branches of the province; leaders of Can Giuoc district attended the ceremony.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can said that Rach Dua bridge is one of the key projects of the province such as Provincial Road 830, Urban transport axis connecting Long An - Tien Giang - Ho Chi Minh City, Provincial Road 826E, Rach Doi bridge, etc. The work contributes to completing the transport network connecting Long An - Ho Chi Minh City and industrial parks, clusters in Can Giuoc district. As a result, the transport infrastructure in the area has been gradually improved to serve the needs of transporting goods, attract investment and promote the efficiency of Long An Port, contributing to the socio-economic development in Can Giuoc district in particular, Long An province in general.

Rach Dua Bridge is the first project to be started in 2020. This is a good sign that many other projects continue to start construction in 2020. These are practical activities to welcome Party Congress at all levels in the province. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee aked the Department of Transport to continue to complete the procedures to soon start the construction of other transport works to ensure the uniformity between the works, and so on.

Rach Dua Bridge is one of three bridges of the project‘s first component of Tan Tap - Long Hau - Highway 50 - Long An Port project that was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in 2017 and adjusted, supplemented some details in 2018, 2019. The total project investment is about 1,495 billion VND from many sources of capital such as Government bonds, provincial budgets, capital mobilized from other resources.

Vehicles and machinery are ready to serve the bridge construction

This project consists of 2 component projects. Accordingly, the first component of the project (Tan Tap - Long Hau road, section from Ring Road 4 to Rach Dua river) has a length of more than 4.5 kilometers; a 11.25-meter wide paved road surface, 13 meters wide roadbed; 3 newly built bridges are Rach Dua, Rach Gang and Rach Vong with a width of 13.25 meters and a load of HL93. The second component of the project (section from National Highway 50 to Long An Port) has a length of 12.87 kilometers, a 14-meter wide paved road surface, 18.5 meters wide roadbed ((particularly, the section of the road passing Dong Thanh and Tan Tap residential areas is 24.5 meters wide); Rach Vop bridge is newly built.

In particular, Rach Dua bridge is about 345 meters long and 13.25 meters wide. The bridge consists of 4 simple spans and 3 spans by continuous box girder, constructed by balanced cantilever method (55 meters + 90 meters + 55 meters). The length of the road leading to the bridge on both sides of the abutment is about 167 meters, the paved surface is 11.25 meters wide, the roadbed is 13 meters wide. Joint Venture Cienco8 - Nui Hong Joint Stock Company is construction unit with a winning value of nearly 157 billion VND. The bridge is expected to be constructed in 16 months and completed in March 2021.

The People's Committee of Can Giuoc district approved the plan of compensation, support and resettlement for the construction of Rach Dua bridge. Up to now, the district has paid compensation, support and site clearance for 88.5 percent of households and 84.2 percent of the area. In the coming time, the district will continue to carry out the ground clearance for construction units to complete the items according to the design.

Provincial leaders visit the shrimp farm of Mr. Le Van Bong

After the groundbreaking ceremony, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited Muoi Hoa high-tech shrimp farm in Hamlet 3, Phuoc Vinh Tay commune, Can Giuoc district.

This farm is owned by Mr. Le Van Bong. He is breeding white-leg shrimps on an area of about 2 hectares. He is applying high technology completely in the breeding process.

He has been breeding shrimp for over 10 years. For more than 2 years, he has changed to applying high technology in shrimp breeding. His shrimp breeding process consists of 3 phases. All processes are applied according to the process that is transferred from the functional agencies under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. According to Mr. Bong, with this process, after a shrimp crop, the productivity reaches about 4 tons per 0.1 hectares of water surface with a high profit.

Currently, he is sharing his experience and transferring the process to many other farmers in Phuoc Vinh Tay commune.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the high-tech application of the breeding model of Mr. Bong. At the same time, he asked the Agriculture sector to continue implementing and transferring high technology to farmers; focus on the link between shrimp farmers, businesses and technology transfer units to help shrimp breeding become more effective and profitable./.
