Long An ranks second overall at National Swimming and Diving Championship

On October 18, Director of Long An Sports Training and Competition Center - Nguyen Bao Hoan said that Long An Swimming Team competed very well at the National Swimming - Diving Championship held in Da Nang City with 9 gold and 3 bronze medals.

Accordingly, at this year's National Swimming - Diving Championship, Long An Swimming Team has 5 athletes participating in the tournament. Notably, Vietnam's No. 1 female swimmer - Vo Thi My Tien, who just participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the events, My Tien showed impressive performance, competing very well when winning 9 individual gold medals, 1 individual bronze medal and 2 relay bronze medals.

In which, My Tien won gold medals in the 200m medley, 100m breaststroke, 400m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 1,500m freestyle, 400m medley, 800m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and 200m butterfly.

In addition, My Tien also won a bronze medal in the 50m breaststroke; together with her teammates, won a bronze medal in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay and a bronze medal in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay.

With 9 gold 3 bronze medals, Long An swimming team excellently won second place overall at the National Swimming - Diving Championship. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City swimming team won first place overall with 15 gold medals, 9 silver medals, 9 bronze medals; The Army delegation ranked third with 7 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals.

The National Swimming and Diving Championship is the most important tournament in the competition system of the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association. This year's tournament attracted the participation of nearly 300 athletes from 23 sports delegations of units and localities across the country. Of which, swimming had 18 delegations with more than 120 athletes; diving had 18 delegations with more than 160 athletes./.
