The mission inspected administrative procedures, records and documents related to the origin, veterinary certificate, the number of pigs put into slaughterhouse, areas for keeping animals, etc. according to regulations at each slaughterhouse. They do absolutely not kill sick or dead pigs so that they provide the market with clean products and ensure consumers health.

Through inspection, slaughterhouses have basically established control areas and safe ones. They commit to accept pigs only in the Eastern and Western South regions are slaughtered. The whole number of pigs entering the slaughterhouse every night must go through strict quarantine and are determined not to import pigs through transfer stations to avoid pigs from outside the area to blend in.

According to Long An Head of Inspection Division of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Fisheries Department - Ha Van Phuc, there are 42 slaughterhouses for cattle and poultry in the province, in which there are more than 20 pig slaughterhouses. The division arranges from 3 to 5 veterinarians who are on duty 24/24 at slaughterhouses to check the process of putting cattle in and putting products out to the market. Cattle must have clear origin and be closely examined before slaughtering. Besides regular and irregular inspection plans every month, on holidays and Tet holidays, the division also strengthens inspection and supervision according to its own plan to ensure food safety.
