Long An urges to implement 3 major works in 2nd quarter of 2018

The province department of investment and planning said in the first quarter of 2018, the province productivity of rice reached 413,969 tons. For the winter spring crop 2017-2018, local enterprises registered 63 large-scale fields covering an area of 18,706ha. With high rice consumption and stable purchasing power helped local farmers earn big profits.

In addition, An Luc Long commune, Chau Thanh district was recognized new rural commune in accordance with new criteria. Long An province granted investment certificates for 15 projects with total registered capital up to US$ 63.75million. Total budget collection was VND 3,7trillion.

Long An province People’s Committee issued plan No.24/KH-UBND on February 2, 2018 to implementing the scheme No. 02-DA/TU about re-arranging the organization system, enhancing the operatinal efficiency of the provincial policy system in line with Decision No. 18, 19-NQ/TW by the 14th Party Central Committee.

In 2017, Long An’s PCI was ranked 4 out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

Of all, the province social economic sector met some challenges and difficulties. The progress to implementing hi-tech agriculture application linking with restructuring of agricultural sector had remained slow.

The provincial investment attraction gained low about the quantity of project and capital. The number of FDI projects decreased over year on year. Two major works including Tan An City and urban traffic infrastructure Tien Giang, Long An, HCMC had been carried out behind schedule.

The educational work had still have many limitations, the number of traffic accidents increased strongly.

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, the province leaders plan to require the departments, agencies, cities, communes focusing on mobilizing human resource to invest in building new rural; carrying out hi-tech agricultural development; cooperating with Tien Giang, Dong Thap provinces to build and implement the linking program to develop Dong Thap Muoi (Plain of Reeds) sub region.

Besides, the province will check and tackle difficulties to boost the major works; proposing to expand the the inter-provincial highway No. 830 project…
