Information from the Department of Industry and Trade, despite the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the export turnover of enterprises in the province still maintained a positive growth. Accordingly, the export turnover by the end of September reached over 4.6 billion USD, up 4.4 percent over the same period (reaching 70.4 percent of the plan); import turnover reached nearly 3.9 billion USD, up 29.5 percent over the same period (reaching 88.5 percent of the plan).

The above results show that enterprises participating in import and export activities have made great efforts in production, trade and export during the complicated epidemic development. The province's export products are still garment products, footwear, seafood products, etc. For imported goods, most of the imported products are raw materials for production and trade activities such as vegetable oil, non-ferrous metals, machinery and equipment creating fixed assets of the tax-free list of imported goods, seafood, raw materials for the textile and garment industry, leather and footwear, etc.

The results of the above import and export activities, in addition to the efforts of enterprises, are also the timely and prompt support of departments, branches and localities in the province on activities of channeling and circulating goods. In particular, the Customs sector also quickly established a team to support and handle customs procedures for import and export goods at the Department and Sub-department levels under the direction of the General Department of Customs. In order to continue to increase import and export in the last months of the year, Long An is making efforts to control the epidemic, giving priority to vaccination for the workforce.

In addition, the province also focuses on solutions to consolidate and expand export markets and take full advantage of the FTAs that have taken effect. At the same time, the province is constantly innovating through effective organization of trade promotion programs, connecting domestic and foreign supply and demand in the online environment, based on new platforms.

Along with that, the province focuses on promoting exports in the field of agricultural products, processing agricultural products and processed foodstuffs thanks to Long An’s advantages. Hopefully, with the efforts of enterprises, the support from local authorities, relevant departments and branches, the business operation, the import and export conditions of enterprises will quickly recover./.
