Maximum supporting enterprises to stabilize production and business

Enterprises are the main production and business force, making the largest contribution to the economy. Leaders of Long An province determines that the difficulties of enterprises are also of the province. Therefore, departments and branches have implemented many solutions to support enterprises in production, business and investment.

At the beginning of 2023, there were more than 50 enterprises registering for recruitment with total nearly 3,200 job positions, mainly in industrial zones and clusters.

San Ha Company Limited (San Ha Company) specializes in manufacturing and trading food in chains from farm to table. Currently, San Ha Company is investing in a high-tech chicken farm in Thanh Loi commune and a slaughterhouse in Thanh Phu commune, Ben Luc district.

According to General Director of San Ha Company - Pham Thi Ngoc Ha, in 2022, the agriculture industry faced many difficulties and challenges. However, with the spirit of initiative and creativity, the Company's Board of Directors turned around resources in all circumstances to overcome difficulties. Compared to previous years, San Ha's revenue decreased but still maintained production activities, output, promoted commercial development, and kept a stable labor source, thereby contributing to the economic growth of the province.

In 2023, the global economy is forecasted to have slow growth, tight monetary policy, etc. Therefore, it will affect most businesses on a large scale. In that context, San Ha Company will certainly faces difficulties from the impact of input prices, changes in demand and consumption patterns, especially in domestic market. Therefore, San Ha Company is reviewing and restructuring the chain of activities to be suitable in terms of production organization and distribution channel, connecting supply - demand in order to fulfill the set goals. According to Ms. Ngoc Ha, in addition to their efforts, businesses need programs to stimulate demand and promote trade. They will need capital from open capital sources with preferential policies for key industries.

Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs reported that, with the care of businesses and the attention of the provincial government for workers, the labor market in early 2023 has little fluctuation. Currently, most enterprises are stabilizing production. Right from the beginning of the year, over 50 businesses have registered for recruitment with a total of nearly 3,200 job positions, mainly in industrial zones and clusters. Enterprises need to recruit workers in the fields of manufacturing, processing, mechanical processing, electrical and electronic equipment maintenance, packaging,etc.

According to statistics of the Long An Employment Service Center, it is forecasted that in 2023, the recruitment demand of enterprises in the province will be over 45,000 job positions. In which, unskilled labor accounts for 59.55%; processing and manufacturing accounted for 19.98%; mechanical engineering, technology accounts for 13.49%; economy, office accounts for 6.98%.

Strengthening business support

At the meeting between provincial leaders and diplomatic agencies, associations and enterprises in 2023, a representative of Ching Luh Vietnam Shoes Co., Ltd (Ben Luc district) said that businesses are currently facing a shortage of high quality human resources. The provincial government needs to support businesses to find workers. Regarding the problem of enterprises' labor shortage, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to continue improving the quality of vocational training, in which, linking vocational training with the needs of enterprises, and coordinating with enterprises to provide vocational training.

At the same time, vocational schools need to further strengthen joint ventures and associations in vocational training to expand professions and improve training quality, especially high-quality human resources. The association will contribute to helping businesses have abundant and quality human resources, well-respond to the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

According to Director of the State Bank of Long An province - Dao Van Nghiep, the bank will coordinate to well implement the 2% interest rate support package in accordance with Decree No. 31 of the Government, Circular No. 03 of the Central Bank to create conditions for enterprises, cooperatives and business households to grow and develop. Specifically, solutions to connect banks with enterprises, dialogue with enterprises, directly remove difficulties for enterprises on the basis of inspection and examination. In lending, it is necessary to improve the initiative in order to create the best support conditions for customers to access the program. In particular, the banking industry must strive to keep the money market stable, which will be the foundation for well-implementing credit policies to support enterprises and promote economic growth.

In 2022, most industries and fields tended to recover and grow strongly; economic growth rate (GRDP) reached 8.46%, the province's economic scale ranked 12th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. Inheriting achieved results and identifying opportunities and challenges, promoting the spirit of solidarity and effort, the province is determined to successfully implement the socio-economic development plan in 2023. Accordingly, the province strives for an economic growth rate of 8-8.5%; industrial production index to increase by 9.5%; export turnover to reach 7.1 billion USD;etc. However, according to the assessment, 2023 is full of difficulties and challenges due to the complicated and unpredictable developments of the world political situation. The Russian-Ukrainian military conflict has had a great impact on the world economy, plus the internal difficulties of the Vietnamese economy.

According to Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - Nguyen Tuan Thanh, although 2023 is forecasted to have many difficulties in production and business, the Industry and Trade industry believes that from the joint effort and consensus of both the political system and the community, the economic development targets set by the province will be quite comprehensive, continuing to be a bright spot in socio-economic recovery and development; an attractive, safe and reliable choice of investors. In order to best support businesses, the industry is promoting economic restructuring in association with the growth model, improving productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness of the provincial economy. In particular, the industry focuses on attracting and participating in investment promotion and development of agro-forestry-fishery processing industry, reducing raw and preliminary processing, increasing the proportion of processing valuable agricultural products.

Particular, the industry continues to promote its role of "bridge", introducing and linking production and consumption cooperation, especially with provinces and Ho Chi Minh City to promote consumption of agricultural products; focus on developing the supply chain of clean and safe agricultural products, OCOP products into modern distribution channels; organize outstanding events to introduce agricultural products of the province; deploying the implementation  Project on Innovation in business methods and consumption of agricultural products for the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030 in the province according to Plan No. 2961 dated September 13, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee.

The Industry and Trade sector also focuses on developing and restructuring the industry, attracting and supporting key investment projects, attracting high-tech industries and supporting industries; deploying and implementing the Supporting Industry Development Program in the period of 2018-2025, creating favorable conditions for promoting linkages in the development of production and consumption of supporting industry products to form a sustainable supply chain. The industrial promotion program in 2023 and in the 2021-2025 period is being implemented by units under the Department of Industry and Trade to support and encourage industrial development, technology innovation, production capacity improvement, and market consuming development; applying quality and environmental management systems to improve product competitiveness.

Currently, the Department of Industry and Trade supports businesses to take advantage of new-generation free trade agreements, especially CPTPP, EVFTA and RCEPA to promote import and export activities, improve competitive opportunities and value of exporting goods, especially those that Vietnam has advantages./.
