Opening of the 'BaDen Mountain International Marathon 2025'

In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Anh Minh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, announced that in 2025 the tournament will officially expand in scale under the name ‘BaDen Mountain International Marathon.’ This milestone not only marks a breakthrough in professional standards and organizational scope but also affirms Tay Ninh’s vision of using sports as a bridge to connect culture, tourism, and international integration.

Athletes complete race kit pick-up procedures

This year’s tournament takes place on August 2 and 3, bringing together more than 6,000 athletes from provinces and cities across Vietnam, as well as from 21 other countries

The four competition distances include 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km. The running course links iconic landmarks of Tay Ninh’s sacred land, such as Nui Da Lake, Ma Thien Lanh, and the Tay Ninh Holy See, offering athletes and visitors both challenging and rewarding experiences.

More than just a sporting event, the BaDen Mountain International Marathon 2025 also serves as a platform for cultural exchange, accompanied by an opening art program, exhibitions of local specialties, and traditional cuisine, all of which create a vibrant space rich in Tay Ninh’s cultural identity.

This event not only provides athletes with an opportunity to demonstrate their determination and push beyond their limits, but also serves as a valuable platform to promote the image of Tay Ninh – a dynamic, friendly, and hospitable land – to both domestic and international audiences. At the same time, the race helps to showcase Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area as a tourism symbol of Tay Ninh to visitors from far and wide.

Athletes visit and shop for souvenirs and sports equipment ahead of the race

On the opening day, athletes completed essential procedures including racekit and BIB collection, explored Expo booths, went sightseeing, and shopped for souvenirs and sports equipment such as shoes, apparel, hats, and watches. Many athletes also participated in light warm-up activities on the “Legendary Run” route to get familiar with the competition course in preparation for the following day.

According to the schedule, on August 3, the 42km race will take place from 3:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the 21km race from 5:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., the 10km race from 6:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m., and the 5km race from 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.

In addition, this year’s tournament features a cosplay competition on the racecourse for official athletes. The six athletes with the highest scores will each receive a prize of 1 million VND.

During the event, several traffic routes in Ninh Thanh Ward, Binh Minh Ward, and Duong Minh Chau Commune (Tay Ninh Province) will be temporarily restricted. Residents and tourists are advised to follow official guidance and choose appropriate routes to avoid congestion and ensure traffic safety throughout the competition./.
