Over 87,600 turns of farmers benefited from VNSAT project

Long An summarizes VnSAT project period 2016 – 2020

According to the report of VnSAT Project Management Board of Long An province, in the period of 2016 - 2020, the project contributes to promoting the application of many technical advances in agricultural production in the province. According to statistics, there were 87,644 turns of farmers benefiting directly from the project, increasing the profit per hectare of production of farmers about 28.8 percent.

In the past 5 years, the project has organized 523 training courses for 11,835 farmers (without overlapping), with 34 demonstration points on the production process according to “3 decreases, 3 increases”; 418 classes for 10,866 farmer households (without overlapping), with 21 places for demonstrating the production process under 1 must, 5 reductions". In addition, the project also opened 55 classes with 1,588 participants in training on such content as instructions on growing mushrooms, producing certified rice seeds, producing rice according to VietGAP, and so on.

In addition, the project has also supported the establishment of 17 cooperatives and strengthened the operational capacity building of 10 cooperatives that had existed before the project. The total project area currently has 27 cooperatives, with 3,818 members, corresponding to the rice production area of 11,702 hectares.

The project has supported 11 sub-projects for 11 cooperatives, including 3 warehouses, 11 pumping stations, 16 transformer stations, 9 inland traffic roads, 2 bridges, 1 culvert, and so on with a total cost of over 72.5 billion VND. According to the plan in 2021, the project is expected to continue to support the implementation of 12 public infrastructure sub-projects with a total cost of 64.8 billion VND.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements that the project has achieved in the past 5 years. At the same time, he proposed the Project Management Board to coordinate at all levels and branches to continue promoting the achievements, overcoming shortcomings and limitations in implementing the process over the past time.

At the same time, to replicate effective models, maintain the application of the production process "3 decreases, 3 increases", "1 must, 5 decreases" to improve productivity and quality of rice, increase income for farmers ./.
