6 years ago, the Tan An City Ring Road project encountered many difficulties in planning, project formulation, appraisal, approval and construction organization; compensation, site clearance, resettlement as well as the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, etc.

With the determination of both the political system of the province and Tan An city, consulting and construction units, especially people in the project area, who have agreed to remove obstacles so that the project can soon be completed and put into operation.

Tan An City Ring Road has a length of about 23km, with 33m wide road surface (including road surface and corridor), 5 new bridges, passing through Thu Thua district and Tan An city. The starting point intersects with My Phu intersection (Thu Thua district), the ending point is at the intersection of National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 833, Tan An City.

Construction scale includes 4-6 lanes, bridge system on the route, drainage system, public lighting system, etc divided into 9 construction packages. The total investment of the projects is more than 3,100 billion VND, of which,  more than 1,660 billion VND is for construction, and more than 1,440 billion VND is for site clearance.

Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc said that the project has a particularly important meaning for the development of Long An province in general and Tan An city in particular.

This will be an important traffic bridge connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway with National Highway 62 - National Highway 1 and along both sides of Vam Co Tay River towards the center of Ho Chi Minh City, thereby contributing to reducing pressure on National Highway 1 and the bypass of National Highway 1, the section passing through Tan An City. This is also an important traffic axis connecting Tan An City with Chau Thanh, Tan Tru and Thu Thua districts.

At the same time, the project will open up important space for economic development, improving trade and service activities, creating conditions for the formation of new, model urban areas, contributing to Tan An to soon becoming a first-class urban area following the friendly - civilized - modern direction.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested that Provincial People's Committee focus on directing the Department of Transport and Tan An City People's Committee, departments, the construction units to complete all sectors of the project as soon as possible and with the highest quality.

In particular, it is necessary to immediately deploy the plan to exploit the land fund on both sides of the Tan An City Ring Road and connecting roads to ensure efficiency, feasibility, synchronization, and in accordance with the planning orientation of the province and Tan An city to create new resources and motivation for development in the coming time.

Tan An City Ring Road is very meaningful to the economic development of Long An province in general and Tan An City in particular.

At the traffic opening ceremony, many groups and individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the construction of Tan An City Ring Road.
