Standing Committee of the Secretariat gives comments on the draft document of the XIth Long An Party Congress

Member of the Politburo, Standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat - Tran Quoc Vuong chairs the working session with the Standing Committee of Long An Party Committee on commenting the draft document of the XIth provincial Party Congress, term 2020 – 2025

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Long An province - Pham Van Ranh and his comrades in the Standing Committee of Long An Party Committee attended the meeting with the representatives of leaders of the central departments and branches.

Delegates focused on analyzing, clarifying outstanding results, innovative methods and solutions, good practices; shortcomings and limitations. At the same time, they drew lessons learned in the past term as well as focused on the province's views, visions and socio-economic development goals in the coming time.

In the 2015 - 2020 term, with the spirit of Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development, Long An Party Committee and people strive to achieve and exceed 18 out of 20 of the proposed resolution. Up to now, the economic structure of the province has gradually shifted in the right direction; transportation infrastructure has developed step; national defense - security is maintained; people's living standards have been improved; etc.

Draft of the Political Report of the XIth Provincial Party Committee is built with 3 main parts: The theme of the congress, the results of implementing the Resolution of the Xth Congress and the directions and tasks for the term 2020 - 2025. The content of the report assesses the achievements, limitations and causes, and lessons learned, on that basis, they set out objectives and key solutions that are suitable to the local situation. The draft resolution of the congress identifies 16 major targets, 2 breakthrough programs and 3 key projects.

Speaking at the meeting, member of the Politburo, Standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat - Tran Quoc Vuong highly appreciated Long An's serious preparation of the draft document as well as praised the results achieved in the term 2015 - 2020. At the same time, it is suggested that the locality continues its efforts to build a clean and strong Party, striving to become a fairly developed province in the southern key economic region and the top group in the Mekong Delta by 2025.

Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong emphasized that Long An needs to analyze more carefully the strengths and challenges, thereby it clearly identifies breakthroughs in the term 2020 - 2025, especially interest in administrative reform and investment in transport infrastructure connecting with neighboring provinces and cities.

Also, Long An needs to continue planning for industrial development, especially with many policies to support key investment projects, supporting industries, clean energy industry, deep processing and Seafood products.

About agriculture sector, the locality should focus on developing cooperation and association in the production and consumption of products according to the GAP process to meet the market requirements in terms of quality and traceability; to form farms, family farms, to build large-scale fields and areas for production of products under the value chain, focusing on the application of high technologies.

In addition, Long An needs to pay attention to ecological environment, build a strong all-people defense in association with a solid posture of people's hearts; etc.
