Strive for growth of over 4% in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sector

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh Province, in the remaining months of the year, the Department will roll out multiple measures and work closely with other departments and sectors, striving for growth of over 4% in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.

In the first months of 2025, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries received due attention. Epidemic conditions remained stable, with no major outbreaks recorded. High-quality rice accounted for a large share — 77% of total rice output. The output of dragon fruit and lime increased year-on-year. Aquaculture continued to perform effectively, producing over 93,000 tons, equivalent to 54.9% of the year’s plan and up 14.4% against the same period.

However, agricultural product consumption faced difficulties, with prices for most farm produce falling.

To ensure growth of 4% or higher in agriculture, forestry and fisheries in 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is focusing on implementing the project “Sustainable development of one million hectares of specialised high-quality, low-emission rice linked with green growth in the Mekong Delta through 2030” in line with the set plan; promoting concentrated livestock farming towards disease safety and environmental protection; providing free vaccinations in several communes in epidemic and high-risk areas from June to August 2025; and continuing the project “Development of specialised aquaculture zones linked with the Dau Tieng – Phuoc Hoa irrigation system, 2021–2025, with orientation towards 2030”.

The Department is also strengthening the management and supervision of planting area codes and packing facility codes, supporting the building of safe agricultural production and supply chains, facilitating connections in the production, processing, and consumption of farm produce, and paying close attention to brand building and promotion of agricultural products./.
