Swimmer Vo Thi My Tien officially has ticket to Paris Olympics

With the highest score in the qualifying round, swimmer Vo Thi My Tien was officially given the special ticket by the World Swimming Federation to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics.

On July 4, according to Long An Sports Training and Competition Center, swimmer Vo Thi My Tien was officially confirmed by the World Swimming Federation to have a special ticket in the Vietnam swimming team to participate Olympic Paris 2024.

Accordingly, in the recent Olympic qualifying round, Vo Thi My Tien is currently the female swimmer with the highest score 775 points, higher than of 15-year-old young talent Nguyen Thuy Hien. With this score, My Tien received a special ticket to France to compete in the women's 200m individual medley.

During her competitive career, My Tien participated in many domestic, regional and world swimming tournaments, achieving many successes. She also participated in SEA Games 31 and SEA Games 32 and left a prominent mark with silver and bronze medals. However, this is the first time My Tien has participated in the Olympics.

Swimmer Vo Thi My Tien (19 years old), was born in Tan Lap commune, Tan Thanh district. Although her family did not have a sports tradition, when she was 10 years old, My Tien was accidentally discovered during an athlete recruitment. After nearly 3 years of training, My Tien debuted in Vietnamese swimming in youth tournaments. In particular, at the age of 14, My Tien made a splash when she broke two records of her senior Anh Vien.

For many years, My Tien has always been a key athlete of Long An high-performance sports, contributing countless medals at youth tournaments and national championships with her forte in the 200m, 400m, 800m and 1,500m freestyle./.
