From the historic August Revolution

The August Revolution in 1945 was a brilliant milestone in the history of Vietnam, opening a new era of independence and freedom; the era of the working-class people taking power, mastering the country and the destiny of the nation; the era of national independence associated with socialism.

That victory strongly encouraged the colonial peoples and oppressed forces in the world to rise up and fight for independence, freedom, democracy and social progress. With that victory, Vietnam not only gained independence but also affirmed its position and development path in the flow of modern world history.

For Tay Ninh—a land with an important strategic position in the South—this is also a time to mark the strong transformation of a province that suffered many losses and sacrifices during the colonial period.

Tay Ninh, along with the whole country, entered a new period with many difficulties: infrastructure was destroyed, people's lives were lacking, and culture and education were not yet developed. However, in the hardship, the will and patriotism of the Tay Ninh people were further fostered. The steadfast people who once held guns to defend their villages, who once clung to their land to defend their homeland during the resistance war, are now the ones who laid the first bricks for the construction and development of their homeland.

The land of Tan An, which was once the first locality in the South to successfully gain power in the wave of the August Revolution, has now taken on a new look: a bustling urban area, becoming the administrative center of the new Tay Ninh province.

According to Ms. Huynh Vuong Hieu - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Duong Minh Chau commune, in the past term, the commune has achieved many important achievements in many fields; the economic structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of industry - services; technical infrastructure, especially traffic, has been invested in and upgraded. The main roads through the center connecting to the commune and the surrounding area of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area have received investment from the province, such as: Provincial Road 781, Provincial Road 790. Internal roads in the commune have been newly invested in, upgraded, and repaired; infrastructure has been gradually invested in synchronously, especially the completion and operation of the wastewater treatment system and clean water supply station.

Outstanding achievements in socio-economics

With the efforts of the entire political system and the people, in recent years, Tay Ninh has grown strongly, constantly making economic breakthroughs and having positive, comprehensive changes in social fields. From a purely agricultural province, Tay Ninh today has become a bright spot for development in the Southeast region, maintaining a stable and sustainable economic growth rate. In the first 7 months of 2025, the province's GRDP reached a fairly high 9.63%, leading the provinces and cities in the Southern region; total state budget revenue was more than 31,000 billion VND, reaching over 85% of the assigned estimate.

Industrial production activities in the province have grown quite well, with the infrastructure system of industrial parks and clusters being increasingly improved. The province's industry has been contributing positively to the overall growth of the local economy.

Mr. Shi Chun - Director of Brotex Vietnam Co., Ltd., a unit operating in the textile and garment sector in Phuoc Dong Industrial Park, said: "In the past time, we have received the companionship and support of the Provincial People's Committee and related departments and branches, so we have expanded our production scale. We hope that in the coming time, State agencies will continue to have policies to support businesses; regularly hold training sessions so that our company can clearly understand the new regulations of Vietnamese law."

Tay Ninh has now boldly transformed to a high-tech agricultural model, clean and sustainable production. Many outstanding models such as: growing bananas for export, vegetables and tubers in greenhouses or raising livestock according to VietGAP standards have been widely deployed.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, commented, “We can see remarkable progress - or we can say a complete transformation in agriculture. From a place where production was not enough to supply the people, now we can supply provinces in the country and even export to countries around the world.”

In particular, specialties such as Ba Den custard apple, Tay Ninh shrimp salt, sun-dried rice paper, rice, etc. are increasingly gaining a foothold in the domestic and foreign markets. The agricultural product market is increasingly expanding thanks to links with businesses, cooperatives and the application of digital technology in consumption.

In addition to industry and agriculture, tourism is playing an important role in the economic development of the province. In the first 7 months of 2025, the number of tourists to Tay Ninh is estimated at 5.1 million, up 4.5% over the same period. Tourism revenue is estimated at 3,530 billion VND, up 29% over the same period. The province strives to make tourism a key economic sector by 2030. To achieve this goal, relevant sectors have been focusing on developing infrastructure, improving the quality of tourism services and building unique tourism products.

According to Mr. Ngo Tran Ngoc Quoc - Chairman of the Provincial Tourism Association, Tay Ninh has implemented many solutions to raise awareness and responsibility of authorities at all levels and businesses operating in the tourism sector—including tourists and the community—in building and preserving the image and tourism brand of the province. Historical sites, tourist attractions, and organizations and individuals operating in the tourism sector have made efforts to invest in infrastructure, improve service quality, and better serve the needs of tourists.

Along with economic development, Tay Ninh also focuses on developing social sectors, taking people as the center of its development strategy. The school system in both urban and rural areas has been invested in and upgraded; preventive medicine, primary health care, expanding health insurance for people have been given attention, etc.

Tay Ninh today has been on a journey of innovation, with outstanding achievements in socio-economic development. This is a vivid demonstration of the vision, courage, and strong aspirations of the Party Committee, government, and people./.
