Thai Ambassador to Vietnam pays a courtesy call on provincial leaders

On September 6, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Vietnam, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, together with her delegation, paid a courtesy call on the leaders of Tay Ninh province. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut, along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies, warmly welcomed the delegation.

Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya conveyed the greetings of the Royal Thai Government to the provincial leaders and expressed her appreciation for Tay Ninh’s consistent support and facilitation of Thai investors over the years.

She affirmed that Vietnam and Thailand have become comprehensive strategic partners and that in 2026 the two countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. This milestone, she noted, will be an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation, with Thai enterprises continuing to expand their investments in Vietnam, including in Tay Ninh province.

Ambassador Sriphiromya also highlighted the strengths of Thai enterprises, noting that Tay Ninh has significant development potential, especially in the food processing and agriculture sectors, where Thai businesses have extensive expertise and advantages. Following recent administrative adjustments, Tay Ninh has gained additional strengths, particularly its system of cross-border checkpoints and ports that support import-export and logistics activities.

She further expressed her hope for more comprehensive cooperation between Tay Ninh province and Thailand in line with the three pillars agreed upon by the two governments. She noted that a Vietnamese town has been established in Thailand, creating opportunities for Tay Ninh to send delegations to promote, connect, and expand the export of its goods to the Thai market.

Chairman Nguyen Van Ut expressed his gratitude for the visit of the Thai Ambassador. He shared that the province has attracted investment from more than 40 countries and territories, including many Thai enterprises.

 He affirmed that the provincial government will always accompany and provide maximum support for businesses, and he hoped that through Ambassador Sriphiromya, more Thai enterprises would be connected with Tay Ninh as well as with Thai localities to foster economic development.

Chairman Nguyen Van Ut also extended a cordial invitation to Ambassador Sriphiromya to visit Tay Ninh again in the near future to gain a deeper understanding of the province’s potential, advantages, land, and people./.
