Trial of Nanocovax vaccine against Covid-19 phase 3 expected to deploy in Ben Luc, Thu Thua
The Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute coordinated with Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Joint Stock Company to prepare the conditions and plan for the phase 3 trial of the Nanocovax vaccine. Accordingly, it is expected to choose Ben Luc and Thu Thua districts to from June 2021.
Nanocovax vaccine is implemented to deploy clinical trials in phase 1 and 2
Nanocovax is the first Covid-19 vaccine researched and produced by Vietnam and licensed for clinical trial by the Ministry of Health.
Previously, the Nanocovax vaccine was conducted clinical trial in phase 1 for 60 healthy adult people aged 18-50 years old from December 2020 and phase 2 in 560 healthy adult subjects over 60 years old from February 2021.
Up to now, phase 2 has completed injections for 560 out of 560 people. Phase 3 is expected to begin implementation from June 2021.
From the experience of implementing previous vaccine clinical trial studies, the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City plans to choose Ben Luc and Thu Thua districts as one of the potential research sites to deploy clinical trials of Nanocovax vaccines for phase 3./.
