Two national treasures displayed in Quang Ninh

The Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture and Sports and Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Centre organised a ceremony in Ha Long city, on April 22, to announce the decision on recognising two national treasures and open an archaeological exhibition.

The Ngoa Van - Yen Tu golden box dating from the fourteenth century

The two national treasures are a pottery vase from Phung Nguyen (2000 – 1500 BC) cultural epoch, dating back 3,000 - 3,400 years ago and a Ngoa Van - Yen Tu golden box dating from the fourteenth century from Quang Ninh. The national treasures were recognised by the Prime Minister in December 2018 along with 20 other artifacts across the country. The two treasures are currently on display at Quang Ninh Museum.

On the occasion, Quang Ninh Museum also organised an exhibition of 100 photos, documents, artifacts and images of relics found at ancient excavations at Thang Long imperial citadel, as well as a system of relics related to the Tran Dynasty and Truc Lam Yen Tu in Quang Ninh.

The exhibition helps visitors to better understand the cultural history of the Tran dynasty in general, and the thoughts and heritages of the King - Emperor Tran Nhan Tong in particular in the system of Tran dynasty’s historical values, thereby raising awareness while promoting national patriotism and pride, for the younger generation.

The exhibition runs until May 30./.
